Interesting about George Osborne. I heard recently (R4??) some speculation that the Tories knew what a liability he is and have shunted him to the back a bit, to avoid making our skin crawl before the election (and reveal him in his true glory after, presumably)

And the SNP can't think past the Central Belt. There's little difference between any of the parties as far as northern Scotland goes. I grew up near Liverpool - the Tories aren't too popular there either - but I have a brain and I make my own decisions based on NOW not then.

gaelicsheep- because the last time the tories were in power they treated Scotland like crap eg trying out the hated poll-tax on us first. They traditionally have little support in Scotland and they know that, so they waste little time and energy on understanding the differences between a SCottish rural community and a busy London one, IMO. The vast majority of Scots are working class and as such tend to support parties that they think will work for them, and that isn't the tories!

If the Lib Dems got rid of Clegg and made Cable leader I would vote for them in a shot.

Peachy - I too have a unexplained dislike of George Osbourne. His voice grates on my nerves and I think there is something shifty about him.

I wont be voting Tory, mainly because of the SureStart issues - mine has been a lifeline. I also worry about the future of Tax Credits.

Labour have done some proper shit stuff. Specially Iraq (tho the Tories backed them to the hilt on that one)- I am no apologist for them (specially Blair) BUT

I had my first child in 1997 and till now none of my kids has had to grow up under a Tory govt. I desperately hope it stays that way

I won't vote Tory because I believe in universal services, a universal welfare state and I believe in Sure Start. I believe in a society where the strong help the weak and want my children to grow up with those values.

I also remember being the child of a single parent the last time they were in and my mum and family being treated like scum. Whilst I am in a better position these days, I am not prepared to elect a government that despises the less fortunate.

David Cameron insists he heads an all new Conservative party, however, all the old cronies who were behind Thatcher are still there lurking on the Conservative benches.

Davi Cameron is a Trojan horse within wich all the old Tory principles hide and I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.
