I won't be voting Tory because...

My utter loathing of Scottish aristocratic landowners, the ongoing feudal system and other rantworthy subjects would have me vote for almost anyone else (not Labour) as this is the 'class' the Tories morphed from and defend.

I find the fact that all those captains of industry are getting behind the anti NI increases with the Tories sinister. Most of them are on salary and benefits which can be up to 81 times the average employee's pay packet - why would we trust them to invest any savings in new jobs - they're more likely to put it towards further Directors' bonuses and shareholders. Are they guaranteeing to put an equal amount towards job creation? The jobs that are created these days are short term contracts, no pension, no holidays, no overtime and probably incentivised and target driven in order to increase profits for those at the top to benefit. There is no long term investment or sense of companies working as communities. THese fat cats, along with bankers, have screwed us all big time and the Conservative Party are thick as theives with them. The Conservatives talk about broken Britain - the gap would only widen between rich and poor under a Conservative Government. Other things like their history on the Bribery Bill and Vulture funds all smack of wrongdoing.

It Would Be Rocking The Boat - and mine is only just floating thanks to Gordon's timely lifelines.... and anyway like the above, I just couldn't....least of all for 'friendly Dave,the bloke-next-door.' It would be more honest to present himself as the elite he is.At least Gordon's always the same, and those back-room-boys provide the glamour for us mums!

They will completely F**k over social care in this country which will wffect many many people in a bad way including children, those with mental health issues, the disabled and the sick.

That's one reason why I won't be voting Tory.

I want to live in a society which cares for the people who need it most.

Do it, Sparkly! Please. Whilst there is still time. Vote. It meant so much to so many who put themselves on the line to buy us that right.

Our local MP is tory, he is a bloodly good MP, sorts out local problems, lives locally, in there at all the rallies for closures of A&E, schools etc. But I don't know who to vote for this year, I don't normally vote but I think that my one vote might make a difference this year, I am scared that as a family with 2 disabled kids, we will be thrown to the lions if Tory get in.

Anohter reason why I don't vote Tory (who I do vote for is the business of nobody and somewhat flexible from campaign to campaign): I beleive in a safety net that is there for all.

When care costs upwards of £500 a week, there are incredibly few of us who could actually afford to pay long term for a loved one, yet we are all one bus accident away from needing it. Ditto most benefits. There's a certain self preservation way different to socialist motivation in desiring a party that works to ensure a decent the welfare state, and personally I don't see that as in line with Tory philosophy.

Because I think that people are more important than money. Because I believe that those of us who are able are blessed - not better than those who aren't able. Because I believe that if we are lucky enough to be able we should help and support those who aren't. Because I believe in society. Because Lord Ashcroft's behaviour around his non dom status sums up the Tory attitude really well - greedy and personal wealth oriented.

I really, really don't like George O. There';s a few I simply canaot abide- George O, Nicholas Soames, harriet H, Old Hoony (thank goodness on way out) and the latest addition to my cross party list is the MP for taunton ( a lib dem for balance) after watching his post budget performance.

I won't be voting Tory becuase I beleive in supporting those who have had bad luck and disabdvantage and I do not think the Tory mindset is that way; I beleive they exist to reward those who have success which is probably OK but not howmy own philoso[hy ahs always worked.

Becuase every time I get a rude comment on here about being a carer or somesuch it can be traced back to tory voters.

Becuase I was based in an office above a surestart (wqorked for alied charity) and saw how much good they achieved

Remind me who has been 'educationalising' childcare in the UK for the past 13 years? Labour are going to do what exactly; as by your own admission 'Britain has the most expensive childcare in Europe, it is quite poor considering what it costs, it is totally private'?

I had a Conservative leaflet through yesterday , " family friendly etc etc " , there is no mention of cheaper childcare, well that is not going to appeal to a lot of mums is it!!! I don't think it's true that they only make cuts affecting the rich - the "rich" don't play by the same rules as the rest of us anyway. I wonder what Mandelson pays in tax for example?

All this faff & argument about 50% tax on earnings, inheritance tax, la-di-dah tax. Anyone with that kind of cash pays for an accountant to squirrel it away. Our earnings are PAYE, we pay council tax rather than registering our homes as owned by an offshore corporation etc., etc.

BTW - ProdigalMomma - those health visitor plans are almost certainly empty promises. Just like several other tory health pledges which have disappeared.

I haven't always voted the same way as my parents/grandparents. I'm a grown woman, FGS.

No wonder this country is stuck with old class prejudices (most of them on the left, it would seem).

And I am old enough to remember the Labour Government before the last Tory one and this Labour government has taken us back there. I will be voting Tory.
