Some good news to start the week!
The mainstream media might be quiet about it, but the numbers donโ€™t lie: Reform UK just lost SIX by-elections in a single week.

Their momentum is officially hitting a wall. On Thursday, they failed to win across the UK and even lost the incumbent seats they were supposed to defend:

  • Amble Ward (Northumberland) โ€” LOST (Gained by Labour)
  • Hirst Ward (Northumberland) โ€” LOST (Reclaimed by Labour)
  • Claremont Ward (Blackpool) โ€” LOST (Held by Labour)
  • Long Whatton & Diseworth Ward (NW Leicestershire) โ€” LOST (Held by Conservatives)
  • Wick & East Caithness Ward (Highland) โ€” LOST (Stormed by Lib Dems)
  • Forth & Endrick Ward (Stirling) โ€” LOST (Held by Conservatives) about:blank 1, 2]

The right-wing vote is splitting down the middle, squeezing them out in low-turnout battles. Proof that real, local communities are seeing through the rhetoric.

Keep it up lads! ๐Ÿ™Œ

My goodness this ITV documentary about Reform UK that's about to start in 15 minutes is by all accounts absolutely shocking and disgusting.

The police canโ€™t politicise. Farage deliberately went against the Nowak familyโ€™s wishes. Disrespectful and cynical.

What about, sensing a theme here, Boris Johnson as the Foreign Secretary partying with Russian Oligarchs. Pictured worse for the wear on his return to England in an airport with no bodyguards.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland cannot just leave the ECHR. Scotland has a different judicial system for a start and a renegotiation of an international peace treaty, The Good Friday Agreement needs to start. 25 years negotiation minimum and tax payers will pay.

The ECHR is an international treaty. Scotland can't agree international treaties. It will be Westminster who decides. The HRA applies to Scotland so if we left the HRA would just be amended to make sure it served the national interest rather than the interest of foreign individuals. And of course the GFA won't need renegotiation over 25 years. It will simply be amended if needed. Who will be wanting to threaten it for this particular reason? No one.

Its like removing titles. You coudl never remove a Prince title. It would be too difficult. And now Prince Andrew is a Mr.

The family asked that their sonโ€™s death not be politicised. Farage did exactly the opposite. And the riots in Belfast were the result.

What has that got to do with the price of fishy Reform business?

Ed Miliband is the Foreign Secretary.

Youโ€™re just throwing random mud now, arenโ€™t you? Is there any point to your posts?

Itโ€™s completely irrelevant that Scotland has a separate legal system. (NI does as well, by the way.)

It wasnโ€™t antisemitic. It was right wing incitement in the wake of Henry Nowakโ€™s murder. Led by Farage.

Im talking about the rise in anti semitism in Ireland. I don't feel inclined to comment about the Irish actually. So I will duck out of any chat about the GFA other than that I agree with Jack Straw (despite the fact he was Labour).

Hardly. We just leave. Are the Irish and N Irish going to give up the peace and stability they've achieved over decades just because the UK left the ECHR? Of course not. The IRA are hardly going to employ barristers to argue that the UK really must stay in a convention.

As I said, they just need to wait.

None of those reports has anything to do with Putinโ€™s political views. He bankrolls groups who can help his ends. But the big one, waging war on Ukraine, was the continuation of a Stalinist policy. Heโ€™s also pretty chummy with China and North Korea. You know, using their weapons and gladly taking their soldiers as cannon fodder.

The last time I looked, China and North Korea were communist enterprises.

Pineneedlesincarpet · 18/10/2026 21:53

No the Irish have done that to themselves. I don't know what is going on there. Anti Semitic madness.

They gave up peace and stability not long ago because right wing incitement encouraged them to wage war on immigrants.

You were talking about you. This is getting ridiculous now.

No you were talking about not bothering about who did it if you were killed.

And I just commented that I would care so the police would find out who blew up Blossom and stop it happening again. I hadn't envisaged myself to also be blown up with you! That puts a very different complexion on things...
