Some good news to start the week!
The mainstream media might be quiet about it, but the numbers donโ€™t lie: Reform UK just lost SIX by-elections in a single week.

Their momentum is officially hitting a wall. On Thursday, they failed to win across the UK and even lost the incumbent seats they were supposed to defend:

  • Amble Ward (Northumberland) โ€” LOST (Gained by Labour)
  • Hirst Ward (Northumberland) โ€” LOST (Reclaimed by Labour)
  • Claremont Ward (Blackpool) โ€” LOST (Held by Labour)
  • Long Whatton & Diseworth Ward (NW Leicestershire) โ€” LOST (Held by Conservatives)
  • Wick & East Caithness Ward (Highland) โ€” LOST (Stormed by Lib Dems)
  • Forth & Endrick Ward (Stirling) โ€” LOST (Held by Conservatives) about:blank 1, 2]

The right-wing vote is splitting down the middle, squeezing them out in low-turnout battles. Proof that real, local communities are seeing through the rhetoric.

Keep it up lads! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Apart from the fact its on the MI5 website.

The name is Bond, James Bond. Or was he MI6? Anyway he is a figment of someone's imagination and the books are now a multi billion film franchise.

The Good Friday Agreement for starters depends on the ECHR.

Jack Straw: Leaving ECHR won't affect Good Friday Agreement

A Policy Exchange study backed by the former Labour home secretary says the widely used argument to oppose leaving the ECHR is โ€˜entirely groundlessโ€™.

The killing of MP Jo Cox.

Bingo, (ignoring the fact that there was also mental health issues involved) we have a single isolated incident. In comparison can you tell me how many murders have there been of innocents in the UK by Islamist terrorists?

Putin was trained by the KGB in the last days of Communism. He is a far right, authoritarian figure now. Look at his record.

Putin's Russia funds right wingers across the globe. The AfD in Germany. Farage (soon to be Lowe) in the UK. Trump in the US. He even has links to the Ultra right wing theocracy in Iran.

Putin is not "left wing". He's a far right, authoritarian dictator who styles himself on the Russian Emperors of old. Who's Russia has succeeded where the USSR failed. He destroyed America. Not with nuclear weapons, but with money, social media and Donald Trump.

Edited

Hes not far right. Hes running a kleptocracy. I will give you hes not running Russia on communist lines. But hes not really got a specific ideology as far as I can see. Hes just a criminal.

Although Putin was a communist, a member of the KGB and is angry about the break up of the USSR.

Putin is not a Communist.

Currently in France we have riots akin to urban warfare in many cities, Initially school protests, quickly seized on by the far-left, various generations of immigrant youth, Islamists, and judging by the flags, the pro-Palastine lot. And here in the UK we have balaclava clad violence regularly dished out in disorderly protests by Antifa.

So we have plenty of repeated evidence of all of the above, but apparently according to some, it's the far-right who pose the gravest threat to law and order? Some people are clearly delusional.

Its a tribal approach rather than looking at the actual figures.

Its a kleptocracy, specifically.

This. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Well I might be keen on the police and MI5 knowing who did it. Just so they can try and prevent another attack.

BIossomtoes · 18/10/2026 21:03

You really donโ€™t know this. Theyโ€™re not going to make that information public. For obvious reasons.

No. The existence of the Union does not depend on the ECHR. Odd thing to worry about.

I do worry that Andy Bs devolution policy does threaten the union tbough. Thats far more causative.

The Good Friday Agreement for starters depends on the ECHR.

Ah yes, if someone or some country on the left goes rogue and embarrassing it becomes right, i.e. โ€œfascistโ€, to left-wingers.

Putinโ€™s hardliners like to wear retro CCCP gear. Itโ€™s a left-wing state run by gangsters.

Itโ€™s a dictatorship run by a tyrant.

Anyone who classifies Putin as left wing is completely delusional. Russia is currently a fascist dictatorship.

Islamist terrorism was listed first in you link;

Terrorism...

Thereโ€™s a mix of things going on here. Determined efforts have degraded the leadership of Islamic State, but Al Qaida and Islamic State continue to direct and inspire attacks. MI5 is still having to respond to attempts to carry out mass casualty attacks in the UK. Three Islamist extremists were convicted in February for planning to use automatic weapons against the Jewish community in Manchester...

Yes it was, glad you read the link

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 18/10/2026 21:06

Sure, but youโ€™d agree that itโ€™s a mainstream argument, not an extremist one and that acting to curb the influence of the ECHR is not a marker of a โ€œfar rightโ€ government?

Please tell me when I said it was. Youโ€™re arguing with something I never said.
