it’s intimidating posting here even though I don’t know you people.
Isreal has offered the Arabs a peace deal but they can’t accept it. Hamas, the Arabs in general can’t accept any peace deal offered to them because the only solution acceptable to them is the total annihilation of all Jews. Let’s be clear they seek a genocide of all Jews. The Jews however seek to continue living peacefully.
Im pretty sure any antisemites won’t watch this video and if they do they’ll be saying it’s fake…

I get the argument fighting Hamas in Gaza was always going to cause horrific civilian casualties. The density, tunnels and Hamas operating among civilians obviously matter. That doesn’t settle the genocide question. The issue is whether the wider pattern mass killing, displacement, destruction of civilian infrastructure, restricting aid, and statements from senior ministers points to an intent beyond simply defeating Hamas.

And Ben-Gvir, Smotrich etc aren’t just embarrassing nutters on the sidelines. When senior government figures are talking about removing Palestinians while all of that is happening, their words become relevant evidence of intent.
You can still think the evidence ultimately falls short of genocide. But “Hamas made civilian deaths inevitable” explains part of the death toll; it doesn’t explain away everything else.

You make a lot of good points and yes I know they are much more than just the embarrassing old uncle at the dinner table.

I do wonder if individual cases shouldn't have been bought to the ICC rather than the whole country to the ICJ.

I agree with that. There are plenty of cases of allied soldiers being prosecuted for war crimes, the IDF shouldn’t be above it.

The vast majority of Palestinians are either Christians or moderate Muslims. They have nothing to do with terrorist attacks in the West.

If you are concerned about terrorism perhaps you should read up on how Israel was founded. Terrorism against British people was intrinsic to the struggle to create a Jewish state.

The Christian population in Gaza has reduced by 90% in large part due to oppression by Hamas. They only make up 1% of the Palestinians in Gaza now. Reduced from 11%. Not an ethnic cleansing but a “religious cleansing “ hahttps://www.jpost.com/diaspora/article-834585

Also - read about the torture and murder of the owner of Gaza’s only Christian bookstore https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Rami_Ayyad

Not easy to be a Christian under Hamas rule.

Christian population declined under Palestinian Authority and Hamas | The Jerusalem Post

"Demographics don’t lie. We are witnessing a significant 80-90% decline in the Christian population in major cities," the researchers emphasize.

@HandPulledNoodles ”And genocide isn’t about hitting a certain death toll. The legal question is about intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a protected group.”

The only people Israel is trying inflict genocide upon is Hamas.

Agree.

And Hamas openly want to inflict genocide on Israeli Jews. And attempted it three years ago.

If the world really cared about genocide, an international force, from all countries revolted by the events of October 7th, would have attacked Hamas to retrieve the hostages and capture or kill the perpetrators. Its shameful that Israel have had to stand alone against that evil.

The vast majority? I’m not sure there’s much evidence for that. Going by the numbers of civilians who filmed themselves spitting on and even mutilating dead Israelis brought into Gaza on Oct 7th.

In fact several of the hostages - the few who came back alive - described how Hamas had to shield them from ordinary Gazans who wanted to beat them to death.

And if you mean the West Bank - well you should consider that the PA didn’t have an election for years because everyone knew Hamas would likely win any election there.
