Surely our PM releases that without National Security there is no Social Security? One is entirely dependent on the other.

That’s quite a bold claim that would require a huge conspiracy.

When do you think the instruction to approve every claim would have started? And how do you explain the fact that claims are down and approvals are down?

About 80k people removed under this government, which is something like 50% increase on the previous one.

Did you see the report from a home office whistle blower. Its interesting.

Housing benefit will help a few people in comparison to the millions of people that would be affected by a war.

Except lack of HB will cause homelessness, especially for children.
War is not a certainty, so you can’t really say it’s the greater good to let so many go homeless because of something that might happen.

Actually I’m not.
The Russian/Ukraine war is primarily an air war, not a land war.
Ukraine is vastly outnumbered but better equipped.

The casualty figures say otherwise together with the need for conscription.

Obviously neither. I’d rather they looked at who has resolved it.

Which tbf Labour won’t do.

Who has resolved what, people trafficking? Who has resolved that?

You just approve the claims of everyone who crosses your desk. Then your inability to remove failed claimants doesnt look so weak. How many failed claimants have been deported out of interest compared with the numbers whose claims have failed?

Remember the government want to facilitate "safe routes" into the country. Not fewer people coming in. They want to make it easier for them so they don't need to go on the big inflatables.

Well yes. So youre sort of contradicting your own point there.

A war in Europe will be a land war as its too tight to fire any nukes. Drones can't invade nor can they retake land. You need troops.

They are already looking at calling up ex soldiers. Make no mistake, our sons if they ard of fighting age will be called up if there is a war due to our tiny army being inadequate.

This is why its so painful watching AB squirm about defence. Housing benefit will help a few people in comparison to the millions of people that would be affected by a war. We need to look tough and strong so no one messes with us. The Eastern bloc countries know this which is why they are rearming "at pace" to use that stupid political phrase. We are still stuck in the past with a retro PM who thinks we still have a peace dividend.

Would you rather a government that ignored these crimes, or said ‘I don’t think we can fix this’?

How would approving 70% of fake asylum claims create the perception that numbers were down?

Approvals are also significantly down under this government, which would indicate other fewer legitimate claims or a harsher approach than the previous administration.

Yes a highly lucrative crime that Labour believes they can end. We’ll see.

I think we need soldiers in those barracks rather than men of fighting age from enemy countries. Its terrifying that barracks are empty.

I see you have edited your message. Yes not free to leave.

Yes thats the interesting question isn't it....a whistle blower has said that 1% only are genuine. One might suspect that the government are letting in fake asylum seekers just to get the perception of the numbers down......

As in collective punishment?

What punishment? Detention for the public good is completely legal with no charge and no criminal conviction.

SpiritAdder · 11/09/2026 10:49

EasternStandard · 11/09/2026 10:41

I don’t think that’ll happen. It can’t turn into a prison and incarcerate because someone commits a crime.

Who says it would be a prison? It would be more like secure accommodation with a curfew.

SpiritAdder · 11/09/2026 10:49

Pineneedlesincarpet · 11/09/2026 10:38

Tell thst to Ukraine and Russia.

It’s nice to know it would be easy to detain them if they don’t behave.

Size of army is growing more and more irrelevant in the modern age of warfare.

Tell thst to Ukraine and Russia.

Basic care is fine. As in the minimum legal standard. Nothing more. We don't need to encourage people.

Id like our army numbers to increase significantly (ive already said there is a distinction between fit for soldiers v fit for illegal immigrants) But that would require defence spending and as we know, national security is not the main priority to AB. Spending money supporting these illegal immigrants amoung others, is.

Good that you recognise people should be treated within the law.

That’s not what he said but those of you ideologically opposed to Labour are never going to acknowledge that so 👍

I never suggested breaking the law. You just took "basic care" as being care that broke the law. People should be treated humanely but given nothing above basic care so as to prevent any draw here. If you live on a beach in Eritrea any standard will be a carrot so bare minimum is what we should provide.

He did say it. The speech was televised. We all know what he meant. It will cost him dearly I hope. Given the headline in the Telegraph today re 9/11 we need someone who puts national security first and if necessary at the expense of social security.

Yes, surprisingly enough highly lucrative crime that spans multiple countries isn’t ended in two years so they will indeed have to carry on. At least they actually started to do it though eh?

There are roughly 800 men in asylum accommodation nearby. I don’t see them and I haven’t heard a great deal of people mention them now the place is settled. The centre created a fair few jobs in an area that needed it.

I would as barracks are usually inside razor wire and security gates.

I see. Do you think the men will be detained in the barracks?

Two years in and they’ll have to keep smashing the gangs. They might get through this if they do. Only squashing objections won’t fix the problem.

Plus asking people to wait doesn’t actually help anyone in Piddington.

Would you be ok with 1000 plus men waiting for asylum in mass accommodation nearby to you?
