You had a chance to put a stop to the dodgy little lying, pathetic twat and you blew it.

Now we have to listen to his bollocks and hate inducing garbage for longer.

9,000 people voted for a bin rather than this swindler.

He can’t even bring himself to come to your town to accept the vote. He is laughing at you.

Real “man of the people’ - why can’t you see that he doesn’t give a crap about you or your problems?

Oh well at least the investigation into the £5mill can resume.

What a fucking waste of time and money. Disgusting. Disappointed in you guys. 🙈

Yes. Tactical voting could do it 🤞

Let’s hope so.

Laughing at you?! I'll tell you who laughs at those people – the sneering, bullying, sanctimonious left. It's the smug, Oxbridge-educated liberals who truly despise those Clacton voters.

They vote for Farage out of anger. And they are angry because the left have IMPOSED mass immigration and multiculturalism on them. No one asked for this change and no one voted for it. A speechwriter for Tony Blair said their plan was to "rub the right's nose in diversity and render their arguments out of date." Now that is fascism. People who want to "rub your nose" in something are the real fascists.

For decades now the left have been systematically destroying English and British identity. Radio 4 can't even mention Dickens or Jane Austen without linking them to colonialism, and every national hero, from Churchill to Scott of the Antarctic, is being demonised.

Did you swallow the Daily Mail? 😂

As an aside, I see that Sinn Féin are not keen on the EU's new asylum pact;

June 2026
Speaking as the EU Migration and Asylum Pact operational date approaches next week, Sinn Féin spokesperson on Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, Matt Carthy TD, said the decision to lock Ireland into the pact was a major mistake by Government, has undermined Irish Sovereignty and will have serious long-term consequences.

“It was a serious mistake for Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael to opt-in to the pact. It was the wrong decision to hand-over powers on migration to the European Union. It will not fix the problems those parties have presided over in the international protection system. On this and other areas, the Irish Government should be defending the right of the Irish people to make these decisions, not handing more and more powers to Brussels.

Absolutely. But do you really think NF voters will be able to see that? He has a cult-like following, where they will spin any negative to make Farage the victim and the victor simultaneously. I honestly think if he got done for chicken molesting he’d still get people blindly voting for him.

He would. See Trump…

It turns out that we also end up granting asylum to undesirable criminals who have been rejected in other countries like France because post-Brexit, they don’t share that information with us.

The Home Office are disputing the BBC's claims here;

A Home Office spokesperson said: “Despite repeated requests for verification, the BBC failed to provide evidence capable of substantiating the claims in this report.

“All asylum claimants are subject to mandatory security checks to confirm their identity for the purpose of immigration, security and criminality checks. We also have a number of agreements with countries which enable the sharing of criminal record information.

It costs everyone in the UK money as the investigation has to be re-opened, which also potentially means yet another by election costing hundreds of thousands of pounds.

They're wasting billions on illegals.

A few hundred thousand is loose change down the back of the sofa.

CitrusBlossom · 14/08/2026 16:00

noblegiraffe · 14/08/2026 14:50

No, I don't think so.

Because it doesn't make any sense for him to have called this by-election before the inquiry concluded. If it finds him to be dodgy, then it's obvious that he called this by-election to try to deny Clacton the information that they would have needed to fairly judge whether they still wanted him.

Brexit changed the immigration profile, you got what you voted for. Less EU immigrants, more immigrants from other countries,

And the UK made no agreements with the EU on refugees/asylum seekers after Brexit as well as losing access to security databases. That is what leave meant.

Exactly. Now people complain that the migrants we get don’t fit in the UK and don’t have uk values.

Where do people start realising that personal responsibility comes into decisions that would have clearly had a big impact for the foreseeable future?

Windsurf · 14/08/2026 15:22

Palomiino · 14/08/2026 14:36

That’s a reasonable enough point, but again, nothing will happen overnight.

The job market is terrible. Food is so expensive. The majority of people have seen their standards of living drop. However, instead of being open to the idea that their own voting choices may have played a role (amongst other things), it’s always easier to blame ‘foreigners’.

Supply and demand is unaffected by increased population numbers?

That's the Sarah Makerfield economic theory isn't it?

AImportantMermaid · 14/08/2026 14:52

I’m bored to death with Farage now. Can he not fuck off to wherever he fucks off to and get some work done before the next Clacton by election in a few months?

Vanillaicelatte · 14/08/2026 14:51

BerryTwister · 14/08/2026 10:51

These discussions are always the same on MN. The bottom line is this:-

Large number of members of UK population “I’m sick of seeing all these immigrants coming in on boats, no wonder I can’t get a house or a doctors appointment. That Farage bloke is the only politician who seems to care about it”

Middle class population “you’re stupid, you don’t know anything, you don’t understand anything, you’re racist and thick”

Large number of members of UK population “screw you, how dare you tell me I’m stupid, you don’t see what I see. I’m definitely voting Reform now”

And that is how our next government will be Reform.

Exactly
and it’s how Brexit happened

I voted leave
I would still vote leave now

noblegiraffe · 14/08/2026 14:50

LilyOfTheValley25 · 14/08/2026 14:26

I will start tnis by saying i detest Farage. But he's been very cunning here. He increased his number and share of votes even with these allegations hanging over him. If the Parliamentary committee find he is guilty of wrongdoing and suspend him after his constituents (whose interests they are supposedto represent) have shown their whole hearted support, it will play into the Farage victim narrative. He will be viewed as a martyr and suppprt for hin will surge. It will be seen as an affront to democracy, and a waste of public funds if a third election for the Clacton seat is called.

No, I don't think so.

I feel the same way about the people of Makersfield.

Agree
I wonder if Andy Burnham will put lots of illegal immigrants in his constituency

in fact I think they should be the first to get them seeing as they voted for him

noblegiraffe · 14/08/2026 14:47

TemperanceWest · 14/08/2026 14:30

It will be seen as an affront to democracy, and a waste of public funds if a third election for the Clacton seat is called

It would be difficult to claim an affront to democracy as it will be for the Clacton electorate to decide if there should be another by-election.

eta: the Clacton electorate is 79,785 so given the by-election results there should easily be the 10% needed for a recall petition.

Edited

Indeed. If everyone who voted for Binface signed the recall petition, that would be enough. And if they were willing to get out to vote for Binface, it's reasonable to suppose that they've had enough of Farage.

hedgeknight · 14/08/2026 14:47

faithfultoGeorgeMichael · 14/08/2026 10:12

@hedgeknight ok, he won, so what now? Will the ears of the left open? Or will the waggy finger scoldings continue?

Open to what? Stopping the boats?

Don't you think Clacton would be better served by a MP who advocates for them and shows up for work rather than shouting slogans?

Clacton issues are not down to asylum seekers or immigrants.

Money wasted on this unnecessary by election would have been better spent on Clacton.

But now they will find out why their MP needs £5m

outdooryone · 14/08/2026 14:46

LauraNorda · 14/08/2026 08:53

Why are you bothered? You don't live in Clacton.

If Reform ever do get in, will the men in white coats have to take you away?

Because Clacton result gives succour to others thinking voting reform. One of the biggest things Reform now does it tell everyone they will be in power soon - and folk want to feel they are voting for a winner...

TemperanceWest · 14/08/2026 14:39

LilyOfTheValley25 · 14/08/2026 14:35

There was only about 10,000 who voted against him, im not sure enough of them will have the drive to sign a petition andcwant to waste hundreds of thousands on a by ekection for which the result is a realistically a foregone conclusion

Edited

If Farage is suspended for 10 days or more a recall petition is opened. It is then up to the Clacton electorate - if 10% or more sign the petition a by-election is called.
