It's always whataboutery with Reform voters. Reform are immoral and so are many of their voters who continue to support them. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of their supporters are the type to take cash in hand jobs, fiddle their books and not pay their taxes. And thus, they don't care about Reform's corruption.

This is not about loathing Farage

While I disagree with everything he says / does, his policies etc, there is a part of me that admires how he manages to manipulate words, and tell his target market exactly what they want to hear, despite there being absolutely no substance to it. And they believe him whole heartedly. If only a credible politician had that ability. If only we had some credible politicians.

If it wouldn't be so damaging for the country, there is also a part of me that would like to see Reform win a general election. It would be hilarious to see that target market evaporate once they see exactly how incapable Reform would be at actually delivering anything.

One only has to look at how many of the Reform councillors have resigned since the local elections to realise that they were either puppet candidates, or have discovered that it is a little bit more difficult than they thought it would be. You only have to look at how many surgeries Farage has run since being elected as an MP to see how seriously he takes his role. And yet, his target market still buy into it.

Thinking and Reform voters aren't two things that tend to go hand in hand.

Time for Reform to also face the law. After all if you think they have nothing to hide/done nothing wrong then what is the problem?

The fundamentals are entirely different. Personal funding against institutional funding, for example. Political parties being bankrolled by vested interests. I notice you have stopped using Miss Widdecombe as a “look over there!”. I am very glad to see that.

it was so good to see those Brian Eno and other millionaires organising about wanting to be taxed more as a patriotic thing. What a huge huge contrast to Farage and Reform.

Farage and Reform have not been properly scrutinised for years and benefited from client journalists given them an easy ride in interviews.

About time that the party finances and individuals' potentially dodgy behaviour came under real scrutiny.

A very minor spent conviction. Tax affairs that were admittedly complex but have been resolved. Do you genuinely think these compare to the public accounts committee and police investigations of Reform funding in general and Farage and Tice’s affairs in particular? The government of the day are being scrutinised, including a convicted fraudster and a tax shy housing minister being given cabinet roles. There's also a small thing like a new PM in town. Are you being disingenuous?

@Marmalademorning I am sure there is corruption in other parties, however, Reform is only a few years old and has multiple investigations against it.
It's the scale of the monies involved plus who donated it, their motivations (asks) and whether they are convicted criminals.

When the Conservatives, Labour, vote leave have been deemed to not have followed rules by the electoral commission the sums of monies have been a lot smaller

There’s plenty of corruption in other parties, but the focus is on Reform because you are terrified of them winning the next election.

I really hope these multiple investigations make Reform supporters really think about whether their faith is misplaced in this group of people.

My theory is that the guardian reported on his 5 million, the right wing media realised they couldn’t just ignore it because it was such a huge revelation, so they had to report on it to seem more credible, then off the back of that he started slagging off the Times et al, which further pissed them off and has been his downfall.

Either that or Ben Habib and/ or Rupert Lowe has leaked stuff to the press about him (Lets not forget, he threatened to sue Ben Habib over his revelations about Farage’s and Johnson’s Brexit bungs). They had a very acrimonious fall out, and right wing figures always tend to fall out with each other because of competing egos. Rupert Lowe also has his rival party.
