I have seen Steve Bray around town a couple of times, he really isn't right that guy, he has a very unpleasant vibe. I remember a colleague wanted to thank him for speaking out against Brexit... some people can't see beyond the 'cause' or issue - why would you want someone like that as your mouthpiece?!

What a waste of a breakfast.

😆 🤣

Milkshakes, eggs and tomatoes. I'm sure Charlie Windsor had tomatoes chucked at him and so did Jack Straw.

What a waste of a breakfast.

I'm not saying they didn't. I can't remember why John Prescott threw a punch - was that an egg or was he pushed by a heckler?

It was an egg.

Yes, it does show that politicians on the right are at risk of being attacked as they have far left and Islamist fanatics against them. Left wing politicians have far right terrorists against them, but on balance I think people on the right are more at risk.

It's really anti-democratic if people feel their lawful ideology will make them a target.

It's only going to get worse. Those attacking others for their political position are no marks in my eyes. I'm not talking about the scum who murder politicians - they deserve the most severe punishment - but the other lot who throw milkshakes and eggs at MPs. Then you've got that complete and utter paid tosspot agitator Steve Bray. Standing in the background but close enough to GBN journalists interviewing Reform. Standing there chuntering to himself and mocking. The biggest intolerant nob going. Given what's just gone off with another attack on a politician, he should have been ushered away. Well done for GBN just ignoring him and carrying on with the interviews.

It may have been updated as it's saying now that it was Farage's home not AW's.

Interesting that they have announced it.

Hang on. My mistake. It doesn't actually say that it was her property in London. Just an attempted burglary.

Possibly at another office?

No arrests were made at the time and the investigation was closed pending any new lines of inquiry.
On Friday Counter Terrorism Policing said a line of inquiry had been identified that was not "pursued by them at the time".

It is a high bar and quite specific. I would think the clear evidence of premeditation would be likely to stand against him there.

Yes. You have to be ' suffering from such a defect of reason as to not knowing what you were doing, or not know that what you were doing was wrong'. As he's driven hundreds of miles I doubt he'd succeed on the first, and it would be very difficult to show he was so deluded that he didn't realise murdering old ladies was wrong, otherwise no terrorist would ever be guilty. They could all say they thought they were doing a righteous thing. In any case, would a 28 year old choose indefinite stay in a mental hospital over 20-30 in prison? Maybe he'd plead not guilty and just say nothing. Then it's up to the prosecution to make sure their evidence is watertight.

I think what they meant to say was that if it does proceed to trial it’ll be on a defence of not guilty by way of insanity. A high bar to reach.

At the moment nobody knows what will happen. We don’t know the evidence against him. But for reform to tweet like this, they’re risking a jury trial! It’s nonsensical

This.

We know what evidence the police said they have. We do not know the quality of that evidence, nor do we know the defence case. It may be that the CCTV shows the attack but doesn't include a clear shot of the attacker's face. It may be that there is an innocent explanation for Kerry being in possession of the items the police found. And so on.

The press are entitled to report what the prosecution said in court. It would be surprising if Kerry didn't look guilty at this stage. But, like any other defendant, he is entitled to the presumption of innocence.

Exactly. Or he may have admitted it all the facts that are in the public domain now in police interview. We just don’t know

Yes, he's an "escape goat", it's all a cover up (but nobody says what for), and the police are all in on it with the CPS, the deep state and various politicians who've been named. I don't mind engaging in debate and discussion but not this 🦇 💩 dialogue.

My apologies. I think I misread your earlier post. Absolutely agree with you.

In all of those cases though it was obvious who the culprit was and there was not doubt over that. The doubt was about the causes of the attacks/incidents. Some posters on here are rejecting clear evidence that this person committed the attack, despite the police disclosing their evidence in court and saying he couldn't have driven from his place to the other when it was obvious he could. The motivations may be in dispute but why would you be so adamant that a person who was found with the murder weapon in their house couldn't have done it?

Edited

It was the evidence they needed to present to the judge to get him remanded in custody though. I presume it was something to do with the terrorism offences that they needed to show they had a lot of evidence that needed to be investigated.

This is why I am surprised this evidence has been released. Guilty before going to court.

I agree to some extent with that. When posters demand “Let the police do their job” and “You will know after the court case” they always seem to be the type of posters who have an interest in shutting things down .

I was really attacked on the Wimbledon driver thread (although received many messages of support) by posters who clearly had an angle . Also on the Crocodile Incident thread there were those determined that there should be little discussion -nothing to see here; unfortunate but one of those things etc etc.

I fear that in real life the “Shut Up” people have a lot of sway. I saw that a whistleblower in the case of the Nottingham killer says he was told to pipe down about their lax attitude towards dangerous patients.

LuckyHazelFox · 24/07/2026 13:23

Nobody is trying to shut anything down. The only people doing that are those who murder people for their opinions. What Ann agreed with was advocacy of one's own principles and beliefs. I don"t believe supposition about her killer and who might have "really" done it covers that.

As much as I think some of the theories over AW are batshit, I do agree with to a large extent. Whenever there is a large group of people all working fervently to discredit one person and to shut them down or ban them it does make me extra curious to hear what it is they have to say. And then I'll make my own mind up whether they are talking nonsense or not.

That's what Ann Widdecombe herself agreed with.

Yes, agreed, and the headteacher who was pressured by mental health professionals to tone down her assessment of the Southport killer, because of 'racial profiling'. She had originally assessed him as being sinister, which turned out to be true.

This is why people are losing faith in the system. We need a lot more honesty from all concerned.
