He can say this because he’s safe in the knowledge he will never be Charlie Kirked.

Peony1985 · 09/07/2026 21:55

Clearly he meant one incident rather than death.

The point being that the twats that kill people do so with illegal guns.

Cars kill more people hence licensing having a test, insurance etc. Guns have legitimate uses and theres no reason why we trust people with one lethal object but not another.

The Hungerford, Eskdale and Dunblane mass shootings were carried out with legally held guns.

Cars are necessary in modern society. Guns (apart from for farmers) absolutely aren't.

That doesn't help his case. He's a nasty, dangerous little man.

Oh yes I wasn’t saying it to defend him!

Would you like to own a gun? What for?

In that interview, he was using “pureblood” to mean he didn’t have the covid vaccine.

Also called himself a "pureblood".
A nazi.
In plain sight.

I think its fucking disgusting what he said. I was at high-school in stirling at the time of the dunblane massacre. Our school was put on high alert and all ove the other local schools. A few teachers had to go home. I will never, ever forget the tragedy that happend.

You're a fucking idiot. I was going to say so much more but really what's the point.

NearlyNewNonny · 09/07/2026 23:35

He's an absolute cunt. No other word is strong enough. I'll never forget that day. Those poor poor parents outside of the school and the photos of the tiny victims and their teacher on the front pages the next day. How could anyone support him?

RL “As you probably know they banned handguns because there was a murder up in Dunblane”
JR ”one murder?”
RL ”One murder”

Clearly he knows Dunblane was more than one murder. But he was deliberately trying to downplay it to make a point along the lines of “didn’t we overreact by banning guns, how ridiculous to ban it over such an inconsequential incident”.
There’s no good faith reason to describe Dunblane as “one murder”.

JuliettaCaeser · 09/07/2026 23:28

There are people walking round today who could have not been due to those parents campaign. It was hard fought only came in when new labour got in.

You are so wrong here. Did you not hear him double down on one murder when the interviewer asked him? He is a lying scumbag and you are stupidly trying to defend the indefensible.

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePleaseBarista · 09/07/2026 23:27

noblegiraffe · 09/07/2026 22:05

Do you think that it is legitimate to call Dunblane 'one murder'?

It was at least, multiple murders. Of primary school children and their teacher.

To talk about it as if your dad having to lock away his handguns was an overblown reaction instead of the only reasonable response is despicable.

The man is a repugnant individual who knew exactly what he was saying when he used the term ‘one murder’. @noblegiraffeis right to be disgusted!

PermanentTemporary · 09/07/2026 23:26

@Peony1985 Thomas Hamilton had a licence for the multiple guns he used to murder. That was the point. That existing laws had not operated effectively in safeguarding the public and therefore new legislation was needed.

Theyreeatingthedogs · 09/07/2026 23:24

His dickhead supporters are saying he meant one incident. The interviewer asked him to confirm one murder, which he did. He is a lying scumbag. No patriot, trying to make the UK seem ridiculous to Americans. He is as contemptable as Farage. Maybe even worse.

I am struggling to believe he said this unconsciously. I can’t figure out what he’s trying to achieve by being misleading within earshot of people he wants to vote for him.

Probably pandering to his trillionaire sugar daddy Musk. That and the fact that many far right voters vote on vibes and don’t think things through very well so most of them would think this was a fantastic idea.

They do also have a tendency to enjoy violence so they will be salivating at the prospect of being able to shoot a Muslim or some other minority they don’t like and get away with it, probably.

I still remember the mothers screaming for their children outside the school. Why does any one need guns at all outside the farming community?

Me too I can still hear that poor mother just crying out repeatedly "Victoria"

Also it was not 1 murder it was 17...

Comments like Lowes angers me. He is basically saying my hobby is more important than your children's lives.

No Lowe it's not..

AnneElliott · 09/07/2026 23:07

He’s bonkers - one of the things I’m proud of in this country is that we took action to ban handguns after Dunblane. I watched the recent documentary on it and some of the parents had replies to their letters from MPs saying “I’m sorry your child was murdered but…” I mean who on earth would say such a thing? Robert Lowe would obviously- odious man.

Pippin2017 · 09/07/2026 23:01

Notonthestairs · 09/07/2026 22:33

A “consistently negligible” 3-4% want to relax regulations.

So the only reason he’d make the argument is to pander to American right in exchange for money and influence. Selling out the UK.

Indeed. Follow the money. Same with Christian Nationalism and anti abortion rhetoric.

danglethedingle · 09/07/2026 22:36

The ban on handguns is one of the best things about the UK, I cannot imagine how parents in America send their kids off to school without constantly worrying there will be a shooting.

And bloody right his father should have kept his guns in a locked box, to have kept them anywhere else is just insane.
