When I opened this thread I didn’t think I would.

I thought for a few moments and then I voted yes.

I think there are few people as toxic as Nige in British politics, though there definitely are a few, like Lowe and Anderson. Pretty much anything other than them would be a better choice.

I don’t think it will happen but I would be truly ecstatic if it did. The only downside is that him being an MP has actually resulted in some scrutiny of his actions. Outside Parliament he can go back to his egregious shit- stirring without the slightest restraint.

I voted yes, but I don’t live in Clacton. I do wonder how this all of this is being received in that constituency, I imagine there are some who are finding this most irritating.

Apparently you aren’t allowed to ask questions in the House of Commons if your face is covered, so he would need to decide what is more important to him- his binface persona, or his job as an MP.

NF has done nothing for them in two years and has a poor attendance and voting record. They dont deserve a joke vote. Vote Binface! Who, whilst having a current day job as a comedian and writer says, if he got the job, would treat it seriously.

I really don't think Farage has represented Clacton in any way since being elected, he's let them down and is also being investigated for fraud. I've never believed Reform really have the people at their heart. We need unity and Count Binface might be the tonic we all need right now. He's certainly dedicated to democracy and his role, and is both funny and intelligent.
Come on Clacton, do it for the people!

If I were in a constituency with an excellent MP but from a party I wasn't entirely keen on, I would vote for that candidate.

Had I been living in Maidenhead when Count Binface stood, I'd have been tempted to vote for him because although Mrs May was a great MP, she was in a safe seat and would have won anyway.
I've never voted Conservative in my life.

I disagree - we now have a multiparty system but have an electoral process that is designed for a two-party system. So in the absence of PR, voting tactically makes perfect sense if you want to avoid wasting your vote.

Even in a bye election, voting against rather than for a specific candidate is a valid choice.

Farage is the establishment. This is him trying to avoid scrutiny and an attempt at the establishment to regain control.

It's a sad fact that our democracy allows these people to become MPs. It shows the strength of our democracy but highlights it's weakness as we grapple the lies and hate being spread on social media that has allowed Farage to become so popular.

Keir Starmer has been forced out of number 10 largely thanks to this man, hounded by his underhand tactics and now he's complaining about scrutiny.

Thankfully there has been cooperation from the conservatives and we may get a chance to lock up Farage and hunt down reform funders and cut off the head before the next election.

I don’t deny that Starmer hasn’t been treated well by the media, but I think suggesting it’s all down to Farage is a bit wide of the mark. There are so many things Starmer failed at, he was as much a part of his own demise as anything else. He did make it very easy for his opponents to pull him down.
