So who are you rootin' for at Makersfield?

Just wondering who everyone hopes will win??

I'm hoping for a Burnham win but as long as it's not Kenyon I can live with it.

Quite - the sheer contempt the Labour party and Burnham are showing to the electorate in Makerfield, and possibly wider, is actually disgusting.

Reform and restore will have their vote split, so it looks like Labour will win anyway.

Frankly it's all a shit show and the people coming last are us. The tax payers, the electorate, when we're possibly forced to have Burnham as an unelected PM.

The Labour party are definitely Not using their powers in our interest. and we're paying for them. Awful grubby little electorate manipulating tax grabbers.

Not quite sure why you i'm getting so worked up about the unelected bit. Im 50 I think 7 out of the 11 PMs in my lifetime have been "unelected" at the time they took office. (Callahan, Major. Brown, May, Johnson, Truss, Sunak).

And thanks fuck we didn't have an election every single time. The cost and waste of effort would be ridiculous.

This is a local election not a general election, voting reform in this case would be a strategic vote to keep burnham out, it would then make it much less likely reform will win the next general election.

if burnham gets in, we will all be screwed even more than we are now. Think it’s bad now, think you’re skint. You’ve seen nothing compared to what thay man’s going to do.

To me the best outcome would be for Burnham to win Makersfield as he seems the best of the candidates who could realistically win there.

But then for Starmer to win the leadership challenge.

Yes it's not unlikely. If any Labour voters in Makerfield really value the country - they should vote Reform for that reason. But they won't.

Yes. And the public who vote reform will with time have further proof they're actually terrible, so hopefully less likely to vote for them in 29.

What was the date of the IPSOS poll? The graph in my link shows support for Reform going up and down in constant flux, it’s definitely not “ever growing”.

In a labour voter but despise Burnham and his arrogance, and am worried if he gets in. Obviously reform can take a long walk off a short pier.

I would laugh if Burnham loses. He has an important job, which he committed to finish his term for. There is no vacancy for the job of PM. He's so presumptuous. Plus he's caused all the extra costs of having unnecessary elections.

Binface. Mainly because I want HS2 to be renamed FFS1.

But also because I can't be arsed with a sodding leadership election dominating the news cycle for the next however many months meaning nothing fucking gets done (AGAIN, just like under the Tories) so I don't want Burnham to win, but I also don't want that misogynist Reform guy to win either.
