Who are Scottish people voting for next month?

It’s the benefit scroungers I take issue with. The ones that have ‘anxiety’ or ‘ADHD’ and are signed off work indefinitely.
We need to get the country working again.
I have no issue with those who are genuinely in need! There needs to be better assessments to wheedle out those who are just bloody at it!
I agree, free tuition is great to a certain extent, but also there are lots of people who have pointless degrees who only went to uni because it was ‘free’ and have never used their degree!

I did. Are you always this rude?

If you did, why was "point" in quotation marks? Doesn't that imply you don't think it's a point at all?

Differentforgirls · 13/04/2026 18:03

Igneococcus · 13/04/2026 17:58

I very much doubt it.

You are ‘looked after’ by the SNP government if you have loads of kids and refuse to get a job.

Well I have my own home - paid off- retired at 60 etc. I still appreciate that my children and their friends are in good careers and don’t have horrendous amounts of student debt. Plus, I count my blessings that I have never relied on benefits, but will never denigrate those who do. But each to their own. 😬

Reading and understanding isn't really your forte, is it?
My point is that the way YOU talk about people who live in Scotland as being "looked after" by the Scottish government is rather belittling.

I got your “point”.

Seriously? I respect everyone’s voting choice while being unable to understand some of them.

But your post is really disrespectful.

Each to their own I suppose 😱

Happy to answer!
This country is a mess. Healthcare, education, energy, roads, etc.
SNP continue to give things away for free while increasing tax for all the workers.
There is no incentive for me to progress in my career as I will just end up paying a shit ton more in tax.
Our benefits system is a sham. Too many people who can’t be bothered working as it pays more to be on benefits. The SNP continues to give pay rises to the unemployed.
Glasgow is the migrant capital of the UK. We cannot afford to house illegals - look at the state of Glasgow city centre. It is disgusting.
I am more than happy for skilled immigrants to move here who want to integrate and contribute.
Reform is the only party who would deal
with these issues.

You do sound like a reform voter! Thanks for replying though. 😊

I’m voting for them because they look after most of us, including the better off.
This makes Scottish people sound like pets rather than humans with agency.

I’m voting anyone but SNP. They’ve been in power for 20 years and nothing works in this country. The health service is a shambles with patients waiting for hours in corridors for emergency care. The roads are a disaster. The ferry service doesn’t work. Schools are getting worse and teachers are getting attacked with no support from their employers. The SNP have given out free this and free that - university tuition, bus passes for under 22s, free prescriptions - that the country can’t afford without raising taxes so high that it’s not worth trying to progress in your career as it’s taken back in tax. If Scotland becomes independent we won’t get to use the Euro immediately and the value of a new Scottish pound will crash and anyone who owns a house will find it’s halved in value, as will their pension.
WE need a government with some common sense that can rescue the economy and start trying to fix all the problems the SNP have created.

👏 👏

Will you just shut your eyes and stab at your voting paper with your pen?

Most people in the UK but outside of Scotland don't want you to stay. There's been a huge shift towards indifference, and stay has dropped well below 50%.

How do you know as you weren’t asked?

Excepting the Northern Irish & Welsh who increasingly want to leave too.

Sinn Fein FM & a Plaid FM likely.

The Celtic Nations are very unhappy with Westminster.

Health is devolved! That’s been poor experiences in Highland, Grampian, Glasgow and Lanarkshire.

The money to run it isn’t.

I find nationalism repulsive
The economy
The state of the world
And a million other reasons

What about UK nationalism - or jingoism? Like "Rule Britannia" et al?
