Badenoch is on BBC News standing in front of an armoured vehicle (she's not sitting in a tank yet, but give her time).
When told that the majority of Britons don't want to be involved in this war, she said that we would be if we understood what it meant.
She's happy to have a conversation with the PM, obviously he's too stupid too.
Only she has the intellect required to want to bomb people.

If our defence personnel are limited could there be a form of conscription (I know other European countries have talked about something similar). Are posters who think KB is right and have young adult DC, would you be happy for them to be called up?

Pacificsunshine · 06/03/2026 15:07

She didn’t call the electorate stupid. Those are words you put in her mouth.

How is she wrong?

In every way imaginable

The Heaton park attack also led to a rise in hate crime against Jews. Not much reported on, that.

Nor was there much reporting on the recent planned attack by Manchester Muslims, only stopped due to a police insider, using military grade weapons that fire 180 shots without needing to reload, on a March Against Anti-Semitism and then planned to go to the Jewish areas of Manchester, where they have scoped out Jewish nurseries, schools, shops and synagogues, to murder more Jews -man, woman and child. The planned attackers stated that any Christians murdered would be a bonus, but Jews were the true focus.

Within that context the recently elected Manchester Green MP did not remind people in her victory speech that Jews are human, but reminded them that Muslims are. Which is of course true, but when did you last hear after racist atrocity, the local MP reminded people of the humanity of the community the racists are coming from, rather than their victims? And no-one has ever condemned her for this.

Where is the government, local and national campaign, to combat rising anti-Semitism? What are universities doing about it? What are the anti- racist organisations doing about it? Nowhere and nothing. There was no action over the rising hatred since Oct 7th 2023 and there has been next to nothing even now its reached the level of mass murder attempts. No one will even name it for what it is - Islamist racist-religious hatred of Jews. We'd name white supremacist hatred of Jews for what is it - but Islamist supremacist hatred of Jews we are not even naming as such.

Its all a national disgrace.

I know there has been a rise in anti-semitism and it is deplorable. I do think it is brushed under the carpet by some. Which is also deplorable.

There was widespread coverage of the convictions of the men who were planning an attack on Jewish people. Two got life sentences.

But none of that justifies a war with Iran IMHO. Innocent people, including children, have already been killed.

Can't we say no now and build up our defences? We are not under any direct threat at the moment.

That’s the point, it’s risky to say no while you are very, very vulnerable. And we aren’t moving with alacrity to remedy that vulnerability either.

JennyForeigner · 06/03/2026 14:55

Funny line from Marina Hyde today that KB is behaving like a teen whose mates decided to get together and bomb an ayatollah without her.

Every time I think Kemi Badenoch is growing into the job a bit, a week later she does something that seems impetuous and hasty. She's not a credible leader.

Of course I have seen the news about the Iranian spies. It is not a reason to enter into a war with Iran, though.

I am not sure you are right about there being no outcry about the murder of Jewish people in the UK. There was much condemnation about the Heaton Park synagogue terrorist attack, for example.

Edited

La la la la… you’re all deluded by thinking that the one thing to worry about is a woman who’s a Tory. A woman being dragged by a site mainly populated by women. Tsk tsk.
Fiddle whilst we burn - or is that truly a displacement of real worries about the future? Nah, I think I know the truth.

TheFilliesWillRiseAgain · 06/03/2026 14:39

She's far and away the best politician in parliament but her party is still a joke

LittleBowSheep · 06/03/2026 14:32

Badenoch would be wise to remember who she is implying to be stupid the next time she wants us to vote for her.

GoldenCupsatHarvestTime · 06/03/2026 14:29

Is it stupid? I have several degrees but haven’t been paying attention to everything because my husband is currently very ill. I have no idea what is happening with this war, why it’s happening or what we should do about it. I have been busy trying to keep my family functioning.

Am I stupid? I would say I am ignorant of the topic. Not stupid.

WhatsConfusingYouIsTheNatureOfMyGame · 06/03/2026 14:10

I quite like her voice! Unfortunately she's not using it to say anything sensible in this instance.

BIossomtoes · 06/03/2026 14:06

I agree @LadeOde. The nasty attacks on politicians’ personal characteristics by both sides of the debate is very unsavoury. Play the ball, not the man or woman.

LadeOde · 06/03/2026 13:52

wishingonastar101 · 06/03/2026 13:02

I don't agree with anything she says, however, I kind of love listening to her. Her weird, slow voice is quite calming. I feel like she would make a good nurse or sleep app.

Disagree with things she says, but mocking her voice as 'slow & weird', is donwright nasty and says more about the kind of person you are.

Passingthrough123 · 06/03/2026 13:44

If she's so sure the majority of us don't have a full grasp of the situation, why doesn't she tell us what it is then?

I doubt she can because she doesn't have a grasp of our defence capabilities herself. She said at PMQs that our naval Type 45 destroyers “cannot take out incoming missiles” – that's exactly what they are built to do.

Says the person who supported Brexit and who was willing to serve for a Prime Minister who would not even acknowledge all his own children.

You might want to check out the news. Iranian spies have been arrested in North London. That's a Jewish community by the way.

Why there is not more coverage or concern about the murders and attempted murders of our British Jewish citizens is a matter of national disgrace.

We were more bothered by Russians murdering dissidents on our soil than we are about British Jews being targeted. Perhaps the fact the murderers and wannabe murderers of Jews are all Muslims is making people coy about naming these racist murders for what they are. I'm pretty bloody sure there would be more outcry is the murderers of Jews were all white supremecists.

Of course I have seen the news about the Iranian spies. It is not a reason to enter into a war with Iran, though.

When told that the majority of Britons don't want to be involved in this war, she said that we would be if we understood what it meant.

The media could do better job of explaining complex situations TBH - but polticans are supposed to explain why they want to do things and persuade the people it's action worth taking.

I'm not sure just trust me it best approach but I won't explain why will work well for the UK voting population I think we're too cynical especially after Brexit.

Even in US the reasoning not clear - and polling I've seen not sold it's a great idea there either and is even openly talked about as a distraction tatic from Trumps other issues.

Doesn't mean we don't understand how dangerous to other countries and it's own citizens the current Iranian government is just this may not be the best and more thought through approach.

Especially as it's not even necessarily about being against the war in itself. Perfectly possible to believe the US and Israel are justified in their actions without thinking it's also in our interests to participate more fully.

This thread seems to be more about Tory bashing that getting to the truth of what she might have been talking about. Maybe started by a selective quote.
I’d ask those that don’t want to send our soldiers out to die (are you forgetting the Navy, Marines and RAF?) just what many are doing already? There’s much more already ongoing than you vacuous types will readily know.

WhatsConfusingYouIsTheNatureOfMyGame · 06/03/2026 13:28

The Iranian regime does very much think of itself as our enemy, it must be said.

1457bloom · 06/03/2026 13:27

Iran is not our enemy, this is not our war.
