Starmer: Is he really capable?

This is from The Times today. I don't think this is good enough behaviour from a Prime Minister. Do you? He should have been in the Chamber and taken the flack.
Will you still support Labour?

What I mean is that there are 3 contenders, 2 are right of centre. If Labour move further to the left and lose their centrists (which the Tories can now position themselves as) Labours vote share will fall.

Right now though I can’t imagine an outright majority for any party.

Capable? Go through all the spin and bollocks and promises before the election about energy costs.
Oil is pretty cheap at the moment but are we using more of it? NO.
Are our energy costs reducing? NO.
Are energy costs likely to come down in this next 12 months? Unlikely.
Did the Government pay millions to Wind Farms to stop generating YES Why? because they built Wind and Solar generators miles from where the energy is needed and have not increased the capacity of the network to cope with this extra. Will we have more pylons and more cables in the next two years? NO
Solar panels produced by slave and forced labour! NOT on My Roof. I will not be party of that. I would rather burn my furniture to keep warm.
Is that the mark of a man who is even adequate?

I’m not anti Starmer in terms of his individual politics. My complaint is can’t be strong when he needs to be. But that is very difficult now when any one can whip up a storm in any direction at a moments notice. He’s just on the too bendy side of diplomatic and reasonable. I wouldn’t want him replaced.

He is also the best Labour can offer right now. Burnham wouldn’t get elected, however darling he is to the left, as the general mood in the country is simply not any further to the left despite wrangling over benefits etc.

The Greens are much further to the left and are becoming increasingly popular.

As someone who lives outside the UK, and travels a fair bit I have to say that the view that Starmer is impressive on the world stage is definitely not held by most of those outside the UK. It's a bit of Labour spin as far as I can see. He is mainly laughed at... Articles such as 'Why can't Starmer afford to buy his own clothes', 'why does the British PM always misjudge those around him', 'why does he always look like an outsider at international events', 'why does he always claim deals that are never quite as they seem'. He's seen as untrustworthy basically

And, as with Mandelson, there's a degree of incredulity that he can be bought so cheaply...

I am looking at the current situation and can see that Labour is the best we have at present. The alternatives do not come up to scratch.

The main reason I am currently supporting the government is because they have some integrity and social conscience, things that are sadly lacking elsewhere. Reform has none at all.

His supporters keep comparing him to Boris and Truss. They are a very low standard to use as comparators. (and I'm a Tory member)

The comparisons are important because, however flawed one might see Starmer as being, it is vital that we look at the alternatives. Johnson and Truss are indeed a very low standard, but who is there around about whom one could not also say the same thing? No-one.

Kemi was not the strongest when she started was she? But she has learned and is now quite strong and she hasn't lost her rag with him either. She can have a short fuse I read.

I usually avoid it as he’s so excruciating to listen to but he’s up against it. Kemi is clear and strong in comparison.

Times Radio is good as it goes through each response, he’s doing badly.
