Shes still an MP. And shes a serious leadership contender. She epitomises all that is wrong with Westminster at the moment and why people despise all politicians. Bad advice is no defence for HMRC for normal people. And in the case of the inflated value of her house meaning she got the exact amount for her deposit, I think its a bit of a step to try and blame the advisors!

Im not using her as an example of why NF shouldn't be scrutinised. Im using her as an example of the fact that despite scrutiny, not much happens to Labour MPs once they are found guilty of bending the old rules or lying. Same as RR, Keir Starmer etc. I think this is because they think they are "good" people so whatever bad things they do, they cant be punished properly ie be sacked as MPs/resign as Chancellor or PM etc as they are "good". But right wing people would have to be properly punished as they are "bad".

Thats just my opinion though as I do appreciate she is popular with the Labour Party.

She resigned as deputy PM and deputy leader for a mistake caused by bad advice. She was scrutinised and accepted the decision and took the consequences. The electorate will have the final say. She’s not really a good example counter the argument that Farage shouldn’t face scrutiny. Still waiting to know who bought his Clacton House - his constituents have a right to know

I'm no Farage 'fangirl'. I won"t be voting for him. But this negative smearing of politicians makes me sick just as 'farage fangirls' make you sick.
I'm dismayed to see people voicing their intention to 'vote for xxxx to keep Reform/Labour/Tories" out. I have never be so disillusioned and underwhelmed by our current elected representatives. I want to be inspired and impressed by a prospective MP's. I don't want all these negative, dismissive and sometimes desperate accusations being the main issues. Let's do better - get better quality candidates to represent us instead of holding our noses to vote for the least worse option.
