Farage promoted the £350 million figure in interviews and speeches, there is a video where he explicitly pledged that EU funds should go to the NHS. Quote from the article above ; “Speaking on the morning of the referendum result he however said he had never made any such pledge.”
He backed out of it on the MORNING of the referendum result!! Sounds like a man to be trusted right?

Be fair to Farage he said there would be £350m more per week for the NHS, in reality we are spending £900m more per week on the NHS. Farage never gets any credit for this.

Indeed. If you read, say, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich you'll understand why they chose that name and why it was as insincere as the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea claiming to be an actual democracy.

It's also instructive to remember that Facism didn't start with Hitler. It started when Mussolini realised that the way to power was through rampant nationalism, calling back to a time when Italy was once great, open racism and rigorous control of the media.

Claiming the Nazi Nationalist Socialist Party is socialist is like saying Scientology is a movement of scientists.
They were fascists, emphasising authoritarianism, nationalism & racial hierarchy. They suppressed labor movements and socialist principles like class equality. True socialists, like the German Social Democrats, were persecuted by the Nazis. They were a far-right, totalitarian regime. Hope this clarifies

I agree with this, but for some reason communism doesn’t carry the same stigma as fascism. If there was a pro-communist rally or march in London with banners showing mass murderer Stalin, I doubt there’d be much reaction.
However, if a march displayed banners showing Hitler the marchers would be arrested immediately.
Also, I believe there - and have been - politicians who were communist in their youth which has had no consequences to their future careers.

However if you look at what defines fascism then you could equally apply it today to say North Korea or to a lesser extent China. Both of which claim to be communist.

If you look at National Socialism (or Nazis) in Germany then there ideology was a combination of nationalism, militarism and socialism. Post war there has been an emphasis on the nationalism and militarism parts whereas the socialist part have been deemphasised .

Its a bit weird how that one video is "5 arguments for why fascism is left/right wing - you decide", then the same channel also has a separate video explaining what fascism is (and that its a far right ideology).
