Is Trump dead?

I don’t wish him dead but I don’t like him and I won’t be crying when he does die. I don’t hate him as that is a harsh emotion, and I don’t know him to hate him.

It’s not a question of being more palatable. There’s no comparison. One man committed a shocking, dreadful crime; the other is inflicting damage on millions of people. I personally have zero sympathy with either of them. False equivalence isn’t some kind of gotcha.

Who says he is more palatable? Is that because posters on here haven't posted on a thread about that murderer? Are we only allowed to hate one person?

I agree with you entirely. So much insane hatred for dodgy old Trump, and yet stomach-churning, monstrous evil like the individual you mentioned is somehow more palatable to them.

Incidentally, I don't wish Trump dead. But I do wish him actual bone-spurs, because that would simply be justice.

There is something weird about a cult which absolutely denies any sign of humanity in its leader, I feel.

It is part of the human condition to age, to suffer ill-health as a result of aging, and to die as a result of ill-health in old age. Denying these facts seems very strange to me.

People attribute bad health and obesity to him because he is obese and unhealthy and lies about it.

Well... people only report on what they see.

He IS obese
Without his orange make up and wig, he looks even older than he is
His mental faculties are declining hugely
He has bruises on the top of both hands
His ankles are very swollen

Elsewhere on social media, a nurse commented that the hand bruising will have been caused by an IV used to administer diuretics...Heart failure was the first thing that came to my mind, but - given his age, his kidneys are probably in a bad way too.

When my dad died, we were told that the diuretics administered for heart failure had damaged his kidneys further.

If he has a catheter it’s as likely to be incontinence as a result of dementia as kidney disease.

He's not healthy though. According to the white house he has chronic vein insufficiency. Most commentators have suggested that its more like to be heart failure due to the sheer amount of swelling. He's also showing signs of dementia and if that bulge around his thigh is attached to a catheter he may have kidney disease too.

He lives on McDonald's and diet coke and doesn't exercise so he's a perfect storm for these.

No, Trump as a person is utterly unsuited to political power, I agree. He’s a felon, convicted of rape in a civil court, a documented racist and should be in prison. I was just making the point that a tit for tat on which of them is too old/unwell for the presidency is pointless, because both are.

Trump will have it written in his will that Vance has to be buried with him when trump dies. Hopefully the same applies to Elon musk Jeff bezos and all the other billionaires - he won't want them to be alive while he's dead

Of course. But that doesn't mean that people who wish Trump wasn't president would like to have Vance instead! There are other alternatives.

I detest Trump as much as you do, but that doesn't make violence the solution. That 'brave young man' did actually kill an innocent bystander.

Being dead would mean he got away with everything - no repercussions for his vile behaviour. I hope they do a "Cromwell" on his body for his crimes.

They were both too old to be president, at least in a system where the president has so much power as an individual.

But Trump, at any age, has truly vicious tendencies that make him a far worse danger than Biden- or even Bush to use an example of someone whom I would not support, but at least wasn't trying to set himself up as dictator.
