Labour - Buyer’s Remorse?

A simple question for those of you who voted Labour at the last GE - tactically or for the first time etc., (not those of you who are dyed in the wool socialists).

How are you now feeling about your decision, honestly?

Have a look at what Liz Truss actually did and compare it to RR. Look at what the impact on gilt rates was and compare it to now. Then go and compare the media reaction and indeed Labours reaction to both situations and then come back and tell me that we’re not in a far worse situation now entirely down to Labour decisions.

Depends on how long you’ve lived. Margaret Thatcher was the worst PM l can remember and the country is still suffering, both economically and socially from the effects of her terms in government.

I didn’t vote for this lot. Thank god. I’d be a turkey voting for Christmas.
As a small business owner, a farmer and a parent of an autistic child in private education I have been well and truely shafted. Can’t wait for the mansion tax on the family farm house.
I also didn’t vote Tory.
I’m politically homeless.

If you can’t see how much worse things are now then I actually feel sorry for you. Just have a look at gilt rates if you are still in denial. They are disastrous and indicative of just how poorly this government is performing.

If they had any genuine care for the people of the UK they’d call a GE now. Unfortunately they don’t, so they won’t.

All of what you want costs billions - where from??? Reeves would love to do what you suggest.
Scrap planning laws? and have even more unfavourable headlines? even reducing them has the Mail in a fit.

Starmer, as a PM is more popular than Farage and Badenoch, so wont be going anywhere.

However, at present, Labour wont win outright, but 4 years is a very long time.

Not very original.

They had 10 years - before Covid - 2 terms to improve the nation, what did they do? increased the national debt by 20%, gave us austerity, which has cost us money, spent 5 years arguing over how to leave the EU and forgot about governing.
Brexit is one, among many reasons, the Cons messed up.

It takes time to fix the amount of mistakes the worries made, I’d hoped KS would be more visible then he has been but compared to the chaotic cash for mates lot had in before it’s bliss…. What do you feel should be different?

I think they are doing a good job. It's been less than 12 months so I'm not expecting miracles and I don't see the immigration as urgent to be honest because 90% of people who arrive without a visa will be going home.

"Is on track" you know that means IF nothing changes, she has 4 budgets to gradually reduce that.
You and others make out she has to find 41bn in October - if indeed its even correct?

Borrowing for July was 1.1bn, lowest for 3 years, i made no mention of borrowing over 12months - much of which was built in from the previous Government - NI cut, Public sector pay rises, compensation scandals - Blood and PO.
