Any other Canadians on here wanting to comment on the trade war (US friends welcome)?

Just watching the news here and feelings are ranging from "meh" to despair. How the H-E Double Hockey Sticks did we get here?

i have friends in tswwassen and have on a few occasions ventured over to point roberts. also been to hyder alaska and skagit valley provincial park all american locations only accessible via bc. now i'm not sure what the population of hyder it (at one point it was 10).

yesterday my news feed had several reports that the king was going to extend an offer to the potus for the usa to join the commonwealth. this i found really triggering so many young athletes attend the commonwealth games and it's not as intense a competition as the olympics i'm really angry at the thought of the usa taking part and taking over opportunities from smaller (less populated) countries.

It's safe to say that "news" item was fake.

Yes, I think it was on the news last week. The residents come here for prescriptions and veterinary services (of all things). Half the residents are Canadian as well, I think.

I googled that price code as .88 isn't usual. It means manager's special/limited stock. I'd buy up... expect the item to disappear soon.

We speak the BBC English of NA that’s why. So we ((Canadians) sound ‘American’ because Americans are adopting the BBC type English of NA.

I have always seen a lot of flags in Canada (especially compared to the UK). I like it and it’s fine. The connotations aren’t what they are in the UK of flying rhe St George’s cross for example.

I am pretty much asked weekly 'where in America are you from?' and I don't hate it. I am a Cdn in the UK.
Also. You don't have to fly a flag to be patriotic. Personally I think it's overkill when I'm in The States to see them flying from every corner, it's all a bit much, but that's me.

@Mumtobabyhavoc off topic, my Costco connection says the computerized prices are provincially set. So same except for online (which includes delivery and is higher priced) I get the Kirkland brand expresso and paid $24.88
I didn’t ask about any recent increase and am unsure what I paid last month.

I just caught a bit of US news on CNN. Their coverage of out politics is putting L's at a 90% to win the election and only 23% of us want friendly relations with the US.
To clarify for our US friends, it referred to political approach, not how we feel about the people.
The national news I saw last night had all three polls putting the top two parties fairly close.

My point was that the USA already has an objectionable flag. I’m not quite sure what you saw in my post that was not exactly that. Why do they need another one? Anyway as you have taken umbridge, I’m out. I am supporting Canada but I do not need nastiness from you.
