You mean the sour crude from western Canada that can only be refined in the US? Or possibly you've forgotten that there is no pipeline from western Canada to eastern Canada so your oil must flow through US pipelines? Also, why is your media and government not upset in the slightest about the 100% tariffs that the Chinese put on your products a few weeks ago? BTW, exports are 34% of Canada's GDP while they are only 13% of US GDP. The US is also 75% of Canada's export market.

Not to mention that potash is produced in plenty of places around the world, including the US. We can make/buy it from somewhere else.

Time for Canada to get tougher by hitting oil and electricity to the US together with potash.

Russia has no tariffs as there are already strong trade sanctions in place.

We’ve not crossed the border but will look at the times at the nearest to us. Our friends (Canadian) in VT who we use to meet for lunch every couple of weeks are more than happy to come north to see us instead.

I crossed through two weeks ago and it was only about a 20 min wait.

Any thoughts on what Trump will be announcing on tariffs on 2 April? He refers to it as Liberation Day!

And now to get through a month before the election with Trump threatening another tariff war on April 2!

We would previously cross at Champlain–St. Bernard de Lacolle to go and meet friends in Burlington VT for lunch. We’ve stopped doing it now and our friends are coming to visit us instead. Food shopping at home isn’t difficult particularly with stores highlighting Canadian products.

@Mumtobabyhavoc im in the interior of bc. and shopping in the usa just not feasible from here. so my shopping is local to start with. we're retired so for us (i'll need to check on my kids) no workplace concerns. i do order my clothing from the usa but will do my best to forgo that and i get my multivits from the usa but am looking to change that as well. both those compromises though are have minimal impact to my life.

sounds like you did a fair amount of cross boarder shopping which might pinch the pocketbook for sure.
