Any polling on what American voters (particularly Trump voters) think of Trumps plans to take Greenland, Panama Canal and now Gaza? Are Trump voters cheering this on? I suspect they are.

@dubsie Anyone who doesn't realise the power and influence of foreign aid needs to look at China's 'foreign aid' machinations in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean for starters. Trump has two aims - Financial benefit to himself/family and revenge on those who oppose him.

The world is truly in a dark place today. Trump is all about the deal and seeing who blinks first. His on/off tariffs could bounce the entire world into recession but that's OK because his companies will be $$$$$$ in, busy building a holiday resort in Gaza.😡

Transparency is being eroded as power is being given to unelected billionaires. How can anyone see Trumps actions as increasing transparency?

It's actually 8 months. How long do you think that lasts if you or your family need health care and you know longer have access to your employers' health insurance?

Do you feel optimistic and trustful about flying in American airspace after so many experienced air traffic control staff have been sacked?

If you were a woman with an ectopic pregnancy in a state which bans abortion, how optimistic would you feel?

Don't be ridiculous. They are going to 'rapidly' change the air traffic control system, are getting rid of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and are giving access to all US citizens' social security numbers, birth dates etc. (that can be used for identity theft and God knows what else) to people who may or may not have security clearances. At least one of the people was fired from a previous internship for leaking information to a competitor.

When they get rid of the Dept of Education that means the end of free school meals and a lot of funding for schools in the most deprived areas. The expectation is that the states will pick up covering that. They won't. Also the common core curriculum will vanish so we'll be back to the days when a 12th grade student in Alabama could graduate high school with the equivalent of an 8th grade education in Maine.

I assume the out of work administrators will sell their souls to keep a roof over their head and move to the private sector. If trump does reduce immigration from the mexican border there will be more labouring jobs available but they will be very poor in conditions and pay. Suspect people from India will continue to come in to cheaply fill tech jobs as the tech giants have joined forces with trump. Could be a mini recession if a lot of Govt and other white collar jobs go due to doge plus ai

They are being OFFERED 8 months severance pay and Trump has a lot of past form for stiffing people. They have been warned by their unions not to accept the offer because money hasn't been assigned by Congress to pay for it.

They can easily resign and then be left with no money while Trump says 'It's nothing to do with me, it's the fault of the radical left dems and Congress'.

Republican presidents have one way of managing the economy: tax cuts, rich get richer and trickle down economics (which is a myth).

You probably haven’t heard the people that are being sacked are getting very good severance pay. Up to 2 years!
