it seems the key here is having a valid passport in your current surname. Apparently, a good percentage of Americans have never travelled outside the US so do not possess this type of paperwork. Perhaps, by the next election, a marriage certificate can be substituted.

For context we recently had the comical pleasure of Vance lecture Europe on freedom of speech, particularly when by all accounts, the trump government are using threats, coercion and illegality to bully and restrict the freedom of speech of any dissenting republicans ( first ammendment) .

Most of the people I know who like Trump are
saying they do so because he's actually putting American people first whether it be true or not I don't know. One friend even told me why does any country have a government if it advocates for everyone else except their own people. I know very little about American politics and try not to get caught up in the conversations if I'm honest.

Trump is removing alot of people's rights, free speech, controlling the media alot of which is based on threats physically and financially. He is allowing musk in to control , their skies, their communications and to some regard their voting. I believe WW1 and WW2 were fought so we wouldnt lose these freedoms. If you experienced what he is advocating, in reality, you wouldn't be so blaze. Read project 2025 which has his name all over it. Be careful what you wish for. We might not like everything our government does but removing our ability to have any opinion would be much worse.
