Dominic Cummings is Musk's informer

trapforsanta · 12/01/2025 09:02

It's been revealed in multiple media sources after much speculation that Dominic Cummings has been whatsapping Musk with strategies to undermine the UK government and our democracy. For a while commentators have been speculating that Musk must have a hard right UK informant, since he's not across any detail himself and really has no understanding of the UK or our political system himself (see his comments about asking the King to dissolve the government). He's clearly been radicalised by watching Tommy Robinson's videos, and now we discover it's Cummings up to his dark tricks again.

I don't think I've ever wished harm to another person but honestly I wish Cummings would just bugger off for good.

@ThePoshUns
“Posters on this thread are desperate to stir up racial tension, “
This slur is a pathetic attempt at deflecting . No one has tried to stir up racial tension. Absolutely no one.

You’re doing exactly what the report said happened in Rotherham Council. You’re using race as a reason not to talk about the grooming gangs.
It’s despicable.

I can't speak for other areas but given that schools have updated guidance, my assumption would be that other areas have too.

I don't know why you would assume otherwise.

You ate right.
Policing and social services have policies and procedures around this and have had for some time.
I was interviewing child victims 15 year ago and locking up offenders also. It really isn't tolerated these days.
Posters on this thread are desperate to stir up racial tension, which is just what Musk and his friends want.

noblegiraffe · 12/01/2025 22:13

I've just had a thought if Cummings is getting himself involved here (and from twitter it certainly looks like it), that I wouldn't put it past him to have come up with the idea of tacking the inquiry amendment onto the schools bill. He would have bloody hated that schools bill as it overturned a lot of his policies from when he was a SpAD to Gove.

But to be blunt your talking about the politics is irrelevant.

Not on this thread! You are not on a thread called 'let's talk about grooming gangs', you are on a thread called 'Dominic Cummings is Elon Musk's informer'.

So you can also piss off with your attempts to control what I talk about.

It’s also on the board clearly marked “Politics”.

"I refuse to be berated and accused of cover-ups and not caring about child abuse for wanting to talk about the politics instead of how dreadful grooming gangs are. "

No one is accusing you of supporting cover ups or not caring about child abuse.

But to be blunt your talking about the politics is irrelevant.

Of course Musk has his political interests at play here but so does Farage, Badenoch and Starmer.

What is relevant and what needs to happen before any distraction of a second inquiry is that the 20 recommendations of the Jay inquiry are implemented.

And regardless of anyone's personal opinion of Musk, he has managed to bring these horrific crimes back into the public spotlight. And the reality is that if is wasn't for Musk's posts Yvette Cooper would never have announced this week that she would include the recommendation on reporting of child sexual abuse into the Child Wellbeing and Schools Bill. Anyone who can't recognise that is putting their personal animosity towards Musk above the speedy implementations of the inquiry recommendations.

I think assuming schools are an outlier would be weird, don't you?

🙄 I think it’s weird that there is obfuscation and deflection on such an important issue .

We had a recent horrific case of the torture and murder of Sara Sharif.
The safeguards failed for her. So I’m not going to assume all the safeguards we have in place are fine .

OpheliaWasntMad · 12/01/2025 22:01

I’m not assuming anything. I don’t think it’s wise to assume anything given what we know has happened.
I would like the recommendations to be implemented and I would like there to be scrutiny and accountability to ensure they are implemented

If schools have had their child protection training updated in response, why would your assumption be that absolutely nothing has changed elsewhere?

Because you said
incidentally, some people seem to be of the impression that nothing has happened as a result of previous inquires or that everyone is just completely oblivious to grooming gangs. I will say that child protection training over the last ten years (at least) has been obviouslyupdated and amended so that school staff

Obviously we expect safeguarding in schools- that seems a bare minimum

I refuse to be berated and accused of cover-ups and not caring about child abuse for wanting to talk about the politics instead of how dreadful grooming gangs are.

And I believe that what would have happened is that the 20 recommendations would be kicked into the long grass by Labour just as they were done by the Conservatives for 2 years.

The author of the report that made those recommendations has said that we don't need more research or inquiries, we need to get on with making changes. The people calling for an inquiry are quite inconsistent as to what they would like inquiring into. I said previously that you get the ones who want Starmer to be sacked and the ones who want to deport all Muslims so even if Labour do instigate another inquiry, there will probably be complaints about how it's not the right inquiry because it won't do either.

Incidentally, some people seem to be of the impression that nothing has happened as a result of previous inquires or that everyone is just completely oblivious to grooming gangs. I will say that child protection training over the last ten years (at least) has been obviously updated and amended so that school staff are now trained every year on how to spot the signs of child sexual exploitation and what a widespread problem it is and how it's not just 'promiscuous children' and so on. The same goes for the grooming gangs that groom children for crime (county lines). It's a real feature of concern and discussion in schools.

Im a teacher. If all that’s happened in response to this scandal is annual updates to the child protection training in schools then it’s very alarming.

OpheliaWasntMad · 12/01/2025 21:50

@Barbadossunset
That is one allegation/ issue that needs to be investigated .
Also -
Misogyny
Class

Also - Attitudes to underage sex
The lack of curiosity or concern about why 12/13/14 year old girls were associating with much much older men and were judged to be engaging in “consensual “ sex.

Those girls were from disadvantaged families and there was no political benefit from supporting them . They were judged as being “less than” and people looked away .

If there was to be a second inquiry (which there won't be) it should focus on how and why these crimes went unchallenged for so long along with the true scale of it.

I thought the main reason why the crimes went unchallenged was that those in authority such as teachers, police and social workers were terrified of an accusation of racism.

It might be bizarre but it's definitely imo irrelevant. What is relevant is that without Musk's posts (regardless of his motives) Yvette Cooper would not have decided to amend and include one of the 20 recommendations (those who cover up or fail to report child sexual abuse could face professional or criminal sanctions under a new offence to be introduced this year.) into the Child Wellbeing and Schools Bill first published in December 2024.

And I believe that what would have happened is that the 20 recommendations would be kicked into the long grass by Labour just as they were done by the Conservatives for 2 years.

There won't be a second inquiry because it's a guaranteed vote loser for Labour.

If there was to be a second inquiry (which there won't be) it should focus on how and why these crimes went unchallenged for so long along with the true scale of it.

As I said it's not surprising that all politicians are using this scandal for their own political gain. But the focus should be on implementing the recommendations of the Jay inquiry as soon as possible both to give justice to the victims and prevent it happening again.

“If there was to be a second inquiry (which there won't be) it should focus on how and why these crimes went unchallenged for so long along with the true scale of it.” Absolutely

But you’re absolutely right the immediate focus has to be on the recommendations and making sure this doesn’t happen again

I don’t think it is the topic of the thread …

But if it helps - you are not being unreasonable in thinking Musk doesn’t care about the abused girls.

Sadly - very few people in power here seem to care either - (and that is my point )

SquirrelSoShiny · 12/01/2025 21:11

The link to DC was mentioned on Newscast on BBC earlier. I detest DC so it wouldn't actually surprise me.

It was particularly disgusting in light of the fact that as leader of the opposition she failed to condemn Musk’s disgraceful comments and lies about Jess Phillips.

I have to say I would have been surprised if she had.

Unfortunately that seems to be the way politics is going.

I posted this earlier on the thread to a different poster

"What you seem to be doing is picking out a bit of the message that you agree with and just focusing on that, ignoring the whole rest of the message and what is going on.
'Tear down the UK government, the UK is on the brink of civil war, the government are complicit in mass rape and are apologists for genocidal rape and a danger to children, particularly Keir Starmer, this dreadful grooming scandal happened on his watch and he is complicit, watch this video from Tommy Robinson and free him from prison, vote Reform, but not with Farage at the helm because he had the audacity to disagree with me'.
And your response is 'great, finally someone is talking about the grooming scandal'."|

It is entirely reasonable to want to talk about the rest of the stuff, particularly on a thread about Musk and Cummings without you trying to shut down that conversation with 'oh so you don't care about the grooming gangs'. Piss off with your attempts to try to control what I am talking about when it is entirely on the thread topic.

YOU were addressing ME so I replied .

OF COURSE you’re saying Piss off now …
It’s a lot easier than addressing the points .
