Dominic Cummings is Musk's informer

trapforsanta · 12/01/2025 09:02

It's been revealed in multiple media sources after much speculation that Dominic Cummings has been whatsapping Musk with strategies to undermine the UK government and our democracy. For a while commentators have been speculating that Musk must have a hard right UK informant, since he's not across any detail himself and really has no understanding of the UK or our political system himself (see his comments about asking the King to dissolve the government). He's clearly been radicalised by watching Tommy Robinson's videos, and now we discover it's Cummings up to his dark tricks again.

I don't think I've ever wished harm to another person but honestly I wish Cummings would just bugger off for good.

And @GrammarTeacher who told me I “clearly know nothing about what was put in place “ to protect girls after Rotherham needs to let Prof Jay know what was put in place .
Jay described herself as frustrated that none of the recommendations were implemented over the last two years.
Perhaps Prof Jay “clearly knows nothing”

OpheliaWasntMad · 13/01/2025 18:24

This is from Channel 4 Fact Check
“In February 2022 it produced a report into grooming gangs specifically, which sought to uncover the wider problem by focusing on six case study areas that had not already been subject to high profile independent investigations, such as Rotherham and Rochdale. These were Durham, Swansea, Warwickshire, St Helens, Tower Hamlets and Bristol.
It found that the sexual exploitation of children by grooming gangs was ongoing and that it wasn’t a rare problem confined to a small number of areas.
The final report by Prof Jay was then published in October 2022 – the day Liz Truss resigned as Prime Minister.
It made 20 recommendations that have still not been implemented in full.
In November 2024, Prof Jay said she felt “frustrated” that none of its 20 recommendations to tackle abuse had been implemented more than two years later.
She said: “It’s a difficult subject matter, but it is essential that there’s some public understanding of it.
“But we can only do what we can to press the government to look at the delivery of all of this.
“It doesn’t need more consultation, it does not need more research or discussion, it just needs to be done.”

Note what Prof Jay says - the sexual exploitation of children by grooming gangs is still ongoing and is not “ a rare problem confined to a small number of areas. “

I think it is plain to most people that we wouldn’t be discussing this now were it not for Musk . It is horrifying that it has taken so long and again and again the subject has been brushed under the carpet.

Prof Jay’s would prefer the recommendations were enacted rather than a new enquiry . I can accept that . Making sure the recommendations are enacted is the priority.
But I will be very disappointed if the people and organisations that failed these girls were not brought properly to account and that is why I want a new enquiry.
NOT because I’m a racist ffs .

What I find particularly loathsome are people who, like the council members and policemen who have evaded censure , shut down the conversations
“this has all been dealt with”
“it’s not an issue any more”
“ you’re racist if you want a further enquiry”

He can do as he likes, eh? No need for journalistic standards, a commitment to truth, or to have any idea what you're talking about?

It's true that it is unfortunately difficult to stop Musk without limiting freedom of speech. That doesn't change the fact that what he is doing is immoral, reckless and dangerous, and that he is only able to do it because he has stupid amounts of money.

Would you also say that a drunk on a street corner 'can do as he likes' if said drunk were to shout baseless accusations at passers-by? Unless you answer a quick 'yes' to that, you're just someone who kowtows to wealth.

Elon Musk is not a journalist.

Having been a drunk shouting baseless accusations on street corners myself (to certain boys) many years ago I have no objection to people doing the same. I'm not a hypocrite

Free speech within the (current) law please.

But even more important than an enquiry - I don’t want it to ever happen again. I’m very glad that Musk’s interference has put attention onto the Jay recommendations
He hasn't though. He is basically demanding that the Jay Enquiry be ignored and a new enquiry put in place. The Tories tried to scupper legislation designed to protect children being home schooled by demanding a new enquiry when they did nothing about the Jay Report and didn't implement any of the recommendations.

When did he demand that the Jay recommendations should be ignored ? I’ve missed that.

Barbadossunset · 13/01/2025 17:46

For example 8 police officers were identified for either misconduct or gross misconduct in relation to the Rochdale CSA but to date only one has been brought to book and that was only a reprimand.

I guess there’ll be a lot of ‘I was acting under orders’ from police and social workers who are questioned.

I wonder whether Musk, Tommy Robinson etc are aware thst Sikh and Hindu girls were aldo victims of the Pakistani rape gangs? The reason the media stopped calling them ' Asian rape gangs' was because the Sikh community had raised concerns for years about Sikh girls being targeted raped, forcibly converted etc by the same groups of men and their families, who come from a very specific part of Pakistan. They protested about being lumped together as ' Asian gangs' when they themselves were victims. I would bet Musk and his acolytes couldn't care less about them.

And I couldn’t care less about Musk.

I’m glad the issue is getting publicity. I want the people and organisations that failed those girls to be held to account. Preferably by facing a proper enquiry.
The ethnicity of the victims may or may not be relevant- that’s for an enquiry to look into .
Posters who imply the requests for an enquiry are driven by racist motivation are part of the problem. They’re using the same tactic used by police, council and media to shut down the questions.

"It's simply a fact that Elon Musk did highlight the grooming gangs issue. Whether he is a good guy or not is irrelevant. He did highlight the grooming gangs which is a good thing especially for the victims."

To my mind this summarises this thread in one paragraph.

To argue that we should dismiss the message because we don't like the messenger is exactly the sort of attitude that allowed this horrific CSA to go on for so long unchallenged.

Absolutely 💯

How does that work if you own the entire platform?

Well the owner decides, just as they do for mn. Within the law

Other than that it’s their call and people who contribute can decide if it’s for them or not.

And a lot of people are deciding it’s not for them, and leaving en masse. I saw that several German universities have taken that decision this week, The Guardian have, etc.
I guess then, you’re just left with an echo chamber. Each to their own.

The point was made that Musk can give his opinions, just like we do on forums like this; yes, he’s entitled to his opinion and free speech (within the laws of defamation), but there are also moderators on forums like this. How does that work if you own the entire platform? Who moderates Musk?

I think if there is another, even larger public inquiry to take place, then it has to be victim-centred from conception to end; the first consultations on this should be with the victims/survivors - not the politicians proposing what they think or plan (and certainly not Elon Musk). The Tory bandwagon amendment and Reform’s ‘rifle-shot’ approach are not the appropriate routes forward either, they only show how clueless both parties are on overseeing an inquiry such as this.

Andy Burnham does have a reputation for that sort of thing.

However, on investigation, Wikipedia tells me 'Shortly after first being elected as Mayor in 2017, Burnham initiated a review of historical child sexual abuse allegations in Manchester and Rochdale, later expanding the scope of the investigation to Oldham. Part one of the review (focusing on Manchester) reported in 2020, part two (focusing on Oldham) reported in 2022, part three (focusing on Rochdale) reported in 2023 and part four (led by HMICFRS and covering the whole of Greater Manchester) is due to be published in Summer 2025.[74]'

so it seems he was speaking with experience and not just self-promotion.

@noblegiraffe

"Sarah Champion's requests look entirely reasonable."

It does indeed look entirely reasonable but sadly when Andy Burnham asked for the same he was accused on this thread of acting for his own political gain.

Unfortunately I doubt that her reasonable request will go very far with Keir Starmer which then begs the question "why".

Quite possibly because both he and Jess Phillips have promised to be guided by what the victims want and have publicly said that “Nothing is off the table”. A number of victims have said their immediate concern is implementation of the recommendations of the Jay inquiry.

The only reason Musk has latched on to the gang rape issue is because he has a vendetta with our PM. He's been told that Starmer might have vulnerability over it becuase he was DPP for some of the time while cases were, or were not, being prosecuted and hopes to exploit that.

He doesn't give flying fu** for the victims.

He cares marginally more about the victims of the Pakistani rape gangs than he does about the millions of children groomed worldwide over social media sites like X. He only cares about poor girls being abused by older men when he can have a pop at 'Left Wing' parties, and non white people. He doesn't care enough to agree to age verification on X, encouraging other platforms to do so, or publicising who was abusing poor, white girls trafficked to Epsteins island for example. Both things much closer to home for him, and where could be an effective force for good. He doesn't want to be that though.

noblegiraffe · 13/01/2025 16:47

However I imagine those calling for a second inquiry wish to focus on...

That's the thing, everyone thinks everyone is calling for the same thing when they are 'calling for an inquiry' and they aren't at all.

1dayatatime · 13/01/2025 16:45

@noblegiraffe

"Given that we know all this, why do we need an inquiry to find it out?"

Personally I would rather the focus is on implementing the 20 recommendations of Jay inquiry rather than what I see as a distraction (and cost) of a second inquiry.

However I imagine those calling for a second inquiry wish to focus on why it wasn't prevented at an earlier stage and why these young girls were not listened to. In addition bringing to book those that failed to do their jobs in preventing this abuse.

For example 8 police officers were identified for either misconduct or gross misconduct in relation to the Rochdale CSA but to date only one has been brought to book and that was only a reprimand.

noblegiraffe · 13/01/2025 16:41

Sarah Champion's requests look entirely reasonable.

They won't, however, satisfy those who want an inquiry that will blame Keir Starmer. Nor those who only want to blame Muslims.

Great the overgrown 4chan edgelords are now running the asylum, just what we need 🤔

noblegiraffe · 13/01/2025 16:36

The mainstream media was afraid to report the grooming gangs for years and years. A documentary was postponed until after an election. It was covered up for years due to fears of being called racist or far right.

Given that we know all this, why do we need an inquiry to find it out?

AzurePanda · 13/01/2025 16:36

I see Sarah Champion has now changed her mind and joined the calls for a specific national inquiry into the child rape scandal. I for one am grateful to Elon for his comments on the subject.

First of all, no he did not lead an insurrection. Completely false. I’m not even going to get into the Banana Republic lawfare used against him. Please read Three Felonies a Day if you think it couldn’t happen to you.

Trump and others were deplatformed from Twitter because the Biden Admin and the DOJ controlled Twitter! Do people really not know this?!

Sigh. I’m not even going to get into algorithms. Look them up if you are wondering why you receive certain tweets or videos.

Haha the social media Zuckerberg controls. I guess, again, nobody followed his testimony before congress in which he blew the whistle on the control the Biden administration had over the moderation of his platform. I guess he is finally feeling the relief of not having the Biden admin call him screaming at him to take down a meme they didn’t like.

Sure, the insurrection would have happened if Trump hadn't been claiming that the election had been stolen. That sort of thing just happens all by itself. Hmm

I also know why I was being bombaded with pro-Trump propaganda in the run up to the US election and it's because Musk was posting it multiple times per day and has made it so that twitter shows you his own posts even if you don't follow him. Trump couldn't have paid for that reach.

Andrew Norfolk was the only journalist who dared report it at that time and faced endless abuse and accusations of being far right and racist. Julie Bindel repeatedly tried to report it but was told it was too sensitive because the perpetrators were ethnic minorities.

www.independent.co.uk/voices/three-girls-drama-child-sexual-exploitation-rochdale-blackpool-pimping-a7739006.html

This cover up is a big part of why we need an enquiry.

Andrew Norfolk seems to disagree and resents Musk and others belatedly jumping on the bandwagon by his own account.
