Why is it ok for prominent British people to give damning opinion on social media and elsewhere about US politics and politicians - much of the most reported opinion having been expressed by elected representatives in the UK - but not the other way round?

These objections all seem a bit paranoid TBH.

British politicians need to have an opinion on other politicians. They need to express those opinions and use their power to influence policy. We are not an isolated blob of a country. Politicians have been voted in to do this in part based on their views of how they will work with other countries.
Musk is not an elective representative he is the wealthiest man on the planet and a megalomaniac narcissist. He hasn't rose to fame on the back of his political knowledge.
He shouldn't be meddling with our politics. Cummings equally treats our politics and our country as a game. He has zero morals. Cummings admitted he knew brexit would be bad for the country but that wasn't his role. His role was to win the game of making brexit happen. Annoyingly he is very good at playing this sort of game. He has worked out many people are easily manipulated. Especially with using populist ideas such as immigration, and horrifically in this case grooming and racism as an easy way to sway public opinion.
Anyone that thinks for even one second that Musk gives a fuck about women and girls is a complete fool. I wouldn't be surprised if it is Cummings. If I was an utter cunt that wanted to disrupt countries for my own fun and power hungry nature I would also use him.

This is huge.

This isn't about the gangs - Elon Musk is trying to interfere in every facet of our political system, without any understanding of it. Saying he wants Starmer gone, he wants the US to "liberate" us (what does that even mean?), trying to remove Farage to have someone who will bend the knee to him in charge of reform.

He's the richest man on earth and he has a direct line to the US president. In the US they refer to him as president Musk because he has that much influence. This is really, really serious.

I’m perplexed by all the outrage over Musk having opinions on British Politics - people in Britain and particularly politicians have never held back on their opinions on Trump.

Also intrigued by the term “informant” - as if it’s somehow illegal to have a conversation or relationship with someone.

Who is saying that? Are we blaming the messenger again rather than listening to the message?

Elon Musk has done this country a great service highlighting child grooming gangs. Just because Labour don't enjoy him pointing out their faults doesn't make him wrong. And Labour saw nothing wrong in interfering in US politics so they can't complain now.
