Dominic Cummings is Musk's informer

trapforsanta · 12/01/2025 09:02

It's been revealed in multiple media sources after much speculation that Dominic Cummings has been whatsapping Musk with strategies to undermine the UK government and our democracy. For a while commentators have been speculating that Musk must have a hard right UK informant, since he's not across any detail himself and really has no understanding of the UK or our political system himself (see his comments about asking the King to dissolve the government). He's clearly been radicalised by watching Tommy Robinson's videos, and now we discover it's Cummings up to his dark tricks again.

I don't think I've ever wished harm to another person but honestly I wish Cummings would just bugger off for good.

Musk likes paid-for speech, not free speech. He tweets lies, exaggerations and nonsense, he sets up asystem that channels any crap he tweets to the top of the system he owns, we pay. Just like TR whose 'free speech' to earn him money came close to derailing trials of abusers.

It is a political issue, nobody’s turning it into one.

True - it is political. I should have been clearer.
My point was the suggestion that if you support Musk’s focus on this it means you’re aligned with right wing ideology - most people I know are glad this terrible issue is getting air time - not because they’re right wing but because they are appalled at the way it has been minimised and downplayed

“Far right” again 🙄
If you cared about these girls you wouldn’t be turning this into a political issue.

It is a political issue, nobody’s turning it into one.

lostinthememory · 12/01/2025 10:55

@OpheliaWasntMad but he's the one turning it into a political stunt.

If I'm honest, yes I would rather he didn't speak about it. He doesn't understand the issues, he takes what he sees on X at face value, and he is doing this with the end goal of destabilising our nation. He doesn't want an inquiry. He doesn't care about the girls. He doesn't care why it happened, he cares about getting Reform into power and then buying influence in this country.

The USA is headed down a very dangerous path. One where women and children are political pawns and will die due to the policies being implemented. I don't want that here and I don't want Musk exploiting victims of rape to achieve his goal.

Violent people were let out of prison at the same time as FB posters (with a remarkably efficient justice system suddenly) were imprisoned. Of course there's a link. People aren't fools. It shows Keir Starmer's priorities very clearly.

Would you prefer to meet her or one of those violent offenders in a dark alley?

Edited

The people who were locked up quickly gave guilty pleas. That’s why it was efficient!
It’s trials that are the issue. A deep rooted issue that was one of the reasons the election was called when it was.

OpheliaWasntMad · 12/01/2025 10:54

So many posters against free speech on here …
And yet they’re the ones accusing everyone else of being “far right “ 🙄
The irony…

Whatever.

We're looking through different prisms.

Instant justice after civil unrest wasn't a Labour thing alone. It happened after Tottenham etc in 2011 for just one example.

Abhannmor · 12/01/2025 10:54

Hoppingabout · 12/01/2025 09:11

Who is saying that? Are we blaming the messenger again rather than listening to the message?

Elon Musk has done this country a great service highlighting child grooming gangs. Just because Labour don't enjoy him pointing out their faults doesn't make him wrong. And Labour saw nothing wrong in interfering in US politics so they can't complain now.

As Ian Hislop said everyone has known about the grooming gangs . It was on the front page of The Times in 2014 ffs. But Elon seems to get all his info from conspiracy websites or goons like Cummings. The nutbag hasn't fucked Britain over enough when he was running the Johnson government and is coming back for more?

Another one who really doesn't care about women and girls, just the laugh of a disruptive troll like Musk.

It's the entertainment of the far right. How much can we poke decent people for our entertainment. Soulless.

I'm not sure what you mean.

I understand the words of course but facts?

The woman sent to gaol for FB posts lives in the same town as me. What was said was way beyond any reasonable claim to free speech.

I will get on with my day and leave the Labour sentinels doing their job. Will pop back later for some giggles.

Well said @Moonlightstars .
I am really concerned about Musk and the influence he has on world politics, I truly believe he is a megalomaniac and needs to be treated with far more caution than is being shown currently.

You’d rather he didn’t question the way the grooming gangs were allowed to operate.

I see a link. The timing. People that post on FB should be in prison.Violent offenders can be let out early.

@workingtowards imo the question of whether or not he is a “good guy” is irrelevant to the question of whether or not he should be expressing an opinion.

As far as I’m concerned, anyone, no matter who they are or what their intentions can say what they like subject to the laws of incitement, libel,
harassment etc.

lostinthememory · 12/01/2025 10:49

workingtowards · 12/01/2025 10:46

I think that the idea that Musk is somehow a maverick ‘good guy’, motivated by concern about the victims of child rape is very unlikely. He is quite happy to hang out with Trump, who was found liable for sexual abuse and was a major associate of a known child sex trafficker.

His motivation is clearly to be a disrupter to political systems. The fact that Cummings is involved makes this clearer.

This is exactly it.

And for Farage et al to jump on it when they have a member of their own party sitting in parliament who has been convicted of domestic abuse.

They don't care about women. They only care about themselves

Everyone knows Musk has his own agenda.
No one is naive .
Im just pleased that his attention ( at the moment) is in a topic that needs attention.

Is there a direct relationship between early release and finding space for a few dozen people convicted of offences in the Southport riots?

The prisons were full under the previous government. Mostly due to massive numbers on remand awaiting trial as the Crown Courts are logjammed.

The man who was Lord Chancellor under the previous administration knew he needed to do something. Early release is the only lever a politician can quickly pull to that end. He's been refreshingly honest in admitting he did nothing for political reasons.

I see no direct link. And if there was letting out people who were outside the criteria for early release is cock up rather than a conspiracy.

OpheliaWasntMad · 12/01/2025 10:47

It is completely disgusting to shut down debate by accusing people of being racist / far right / BNP .
Wanting truth , transparency and justice for the victims of the grooming gangs does not mean I’m far right .
I know some BNP types will jump on this issue for their own agenda BUT that does mean we can all be tarnished as BNP

I’m laughing at people on here frothing about Elon Musk spreading misinformation and then quoting the Daily Mail as their sources!

Hoppingabout · 12/01/2025 10:45

Sherbs12 · 12/01/2025 10:40

Yes! There was someone on a thread yesterday praising Nick Griffin of the BNP.

We’re then also expected to explain and justify why far-right groups/parties are far-right.

It's hard to know what to reply to someone who has turned their face so firmly against the victims that they prefer to distract people with accusations of not being "the right sort of messenger".

Bromptotoo · 12/01/2025 10:43

Hoppingabout · 12/01/2025 10:36

Some of that is rational though. Starmer's reaction to the Southport murders was wrong particularly throwing violent offenders out of jail to replace them with people who posted on FB.

Tommy Robinson committed contempt of court and should be in prison.so I have no argument with that.

AzurePanda · 12/01/2025 10:42

@GrammarTeacher Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Stephen Hawking and Steven Pinker and hundreds of others also hung out with Jeffrey Epstein.

Bill Gates was a particular buddy, do you have the same concerns regarding his well documented involvement with UK governments?
