Dominic Cummings is Musk's informer

482 replies

trapforsanta · 12/01/2025 09:02

It's been revealed in multiple media sources after much speculation that Dominic Cummings has been whatsapping Musk with strategies to undermine the UK government and our democracy. For a while commentators have been speculating that Musk must have a hard right UK informant, since he's not across any detail himself and really has no understanding of the UK or our political system himself (see his comments about asking the King to dissolve the government). He's clearly been radicalised by watching Tommy Robinson's videos, and now we discover it's Cummings up to his dark tricks again.

I don't think I've ever wished harm to another person but honestly I wish Cummings would just bugger off for good.

Funny, people who don't like Starmer normally point to how low a percentage of that vote he (actually his party) got.

ThePoshUns · 12/01/2025 19:09

'The same Brits who elected Keir Starmer as Prime Minister.'
Aka the majority of those who voted.

I think you’re a bit muddled, you might want to reconsider.

I’m perplexed by all the outrage over Musk having opinions on British Politics - people in Britain and particularly politicians have never held back on their opinions on Trump.

Also intrigued by the term “informant” - as if it’s somehow illegal to have a conversation or relationship with someone.

It's ridiculous. Murdoch's been pulling the strings for decades, foreign national. Musk writes a few tweets and now Westminster have a problem. Blair was practically begging Murdoch for support, as well as every Tory leader was.

Not to mention other nefarious characters like Soros pulling the strings. At least Musk is up front and isn't a shadowy figure.

The man is genuinely outraged over the grooming gangs. Any human being should be.

He’s not the only one. It’s pretty grim.

@noblegiraffe
What’s grim is the fact that so many of the posters on here don’t care about the scale of this atrocity
“it is shameful that we still do not know the true scale of the depravity that has taken place. In 2022, after seven years, the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) – which included a strand on the operation of rape gangs (but excluded the towns already known about) – could not determine its extent”

@ThePoshUns
This article ( written in 2022) says the following
“It is disturbing that a decade after Andrew Norfolk’s groundbreaking story hit the headlines, politicians are still actively attempting to avoid the biggest scandal in early21st century Britain. Why must we focus on grooming scandals and not include every single act of child abuse, Champion asks. Well, should we have shunned the Boston Globe’s expose into the Catholic Church because it didn’t include Pentecostals? Of course not. Seeking justice for the many thousands of survivors who have been involved in this horrific ordeal doesn’t mean a lack of interest elsewhere. We simply demand answers and long overdue accountability. The timidity has to end. “

@ThePoshUns
You said - “There is no light to be shed in grooming gangs unless you have lives without reading a single newspaper for the last 15 years or so.”
But the New Stateman article posted above says “But it is shameful that we still do not know the true scale of the depravity that has taken place. In 2022, after seven years, the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) – which included a strand on the operation of rape gangs (but excluded the towns already known about) – could not determine its extent”

Im getting suspicious of people who keep saying “nothing to see - move along” ..

This is very good from . New Statesman

Keir Starmer was right to call out Musk and others’ “lies and disinformation”. But it is shameful that we still do not know the true scale of the depravity that has taken place. In 2022, after seven years, the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) – which included a strand on the operation of rape gangs (but excluded the towns already known about) – could not determine its extent. It is for survivors to judge whether there should be a new national inquiry. It is not “jumping on the far-right bandwagon”, as Starmer has said, to believe there should be. But any work at scale will take years, and action must happen now. It is a disgrace that having accepted the IICSA’s recommendations in May 2023, the Conservative government enacted none by the time it left office. The Home Secretary announced on 6 January that failing to report child sexual abuse will become a new offence this spring. More is needed. These girls – now women – should not have to wait any longer to see change.

There is no light to be shed in grooming gangs unless you have lives without reading a single newspaper for the last 15 years or so.
There is no need for further enquiries either.
Men have been prosecuted and are still under investigation for these abhorrent offences.
Policing and social services have changed their approach in dealing with victims and offenders.
All local authorities work jointly and have teams set up to tackle child sexual exploitation and have done for at least 10 years ( I know this to be true as I have worked on such a team).
Musk has no interest in sexual offending against children it's just a dog whistle to call the right wing to arms in justifying racism behaviour
If you think Musk is a force for good you are massively disillusioned.

Andy Burnham thinks there is a need for further enquiries
“I will add my voice into this and say I do think there is the case for a limited national inquiry that draws on reviews like the one that I commissioned, and the one we have seen in Rotherham, the one we have seen in Telford, to draw out some of these national issues and compel people to give evidence who then may have charges to answer and be held to account.”

Just lost a wonderful colleague who's moved out of the country because why the fuck should he, his wife and his three daughters put up with him going into people's houses to be treated with suspicion y GB News watchers because he has a brown face.

No one should have to put up with racial hostility, especially at work.

But if this is truly a reaction to his view of people who watch GB News, he's gone wildly overboard. Should white people leave the country in case they come into contact with Guardian readers, gay people in case they come into contact with Torah readers, unbelievers in case they come into contact with Quran readers, omnivores in case their clients are on the PETA mailing list, landlords in case the encounter a Morning Star reader?

(I'm going to be extremely lonely, as a sometime consumer of at least four of the above).

We should be robust enough to expose ourselves to a wide range of views, and not to leap to the worst-case assumptions of others who do the same, or who just have different views than we do. That’s true regardless of our race.

trapforsanta · 12/01/2025 14:05

Right-leaning people on Mumsnet often try to shut down arguments by telling others they are "woke".

Left-leaning people on Mumsnet often try to shut down arguments by accusing others of being "far right".

But regarding Musk's support of the AfD in Germany, be in no doubt, that they are HARD right. In a speech the founder described the holocaust memorial as shameful (that they should be memorialised), and said “Hitler and the Nazis are just a speck of bird poop in more than 1,000 years of successful German history.”

And Musk is actively trying to get them elected with his meddling.

I give up. There are too many people replying to me who clearly only see this from a tribal perspective and are arguing in defence of Keir Starmer rather than for the victims. I really hope no one who has been directly affected reads this thread.

You keep repeating that the gang wasn't prosecuted under the leadership of Keir Starmer and claiming this was his fault while ignoring that the gang were subsequently prosecuted under Keir Starmer's leadership, which he has been given credit for.

You are the person seeing things from a tribal perspective here.

Explains a lot. I couldn't understand why an adviser to the US president was tweeting about a Birmingham MP. Cummings is an intelligent shit and politics-torturer who can always find direct access to a nerve to inflict more pain. Musk wants to increase his own influence and likes playing with toys. British politics is Lego to him. We're not real people.

Just lost a wonderful colleague who's moved out of the country because why the fuck should he, his wife and his three daughters put up with him going into people's houses to be treated with suspicion y GB News watchers because he has a brown face.

Anyone attempting to say that AfD aren't far right can go and work for that Reform MP who assaulted his girlfriend. Or for Musk and his multiple baby mamas. These aren't people who value women.

Agree with this

Why are you ignoring that the gang in question was prosecuted under Keir Starmer's leadership?

Because it doesn’t suit their agenda. Even when their own preferred source confirms they’re wrong. We truly are living in the post truth era of alternative facts.

I'm not tribal at all. I've resigned twice from the Labour Party over rightward drift. Once under Blair again under Starmer.

I hold no brief for Kier Starmer but I'm not going to have our PM kebabbed without proper evidence.

I've read Nazir Afzal's book. We know at least one case in 2009 that should have been prosecuted was not. They admitted they got it wrong. The guidelines that led to its rejection were re-written on Starmer's watch.

Much better we learn from mistakes than coming back for people's hides years down the road.
