So does "far right" mean you're concerned about the impacts of mass immigration?

Cause I'm far right if so then!

Genuinely interested to hear what people consider as being "far right". I put it in quotation marks cause the term is so over-used incorrectly, it's actually lost all meaning.

Isn't it more about culture, identity and familiarity though? I can see what the poster said and not see it as racist.

If you have a problem being in a room (or plane) and being in the minority in terms of visible ethnicity then the problem is you.

The racism on this thread is disgusting. Not sure why getting on a flight and not seeing a white face is an issue. Assume all those brown faces were just minding their own business and causing PP absolutely no harm whatsoever. Let me tell you plenty of white men are abusing vulnerable women and girls too.

That's a really good idea. You should write to Starmer and explain that no one cares if universities fail. That only the courses you approve of are worthwhile and we don't need more forrins.

Student visas make up a huge percentage of our immigration numbers....if universities can't continue without them, then let them fail and close down? Am I missing something? Who cares?

Yawn. Just keep on brushing things under the carpet and watch everything explode. Because that's what will happen.and no one reasonable wants that. Things need to be discussed and out in the open, not covered up so that Keir can hide from being held to account for his failures in bringing paedophiles to justice and stopping mass rapes of children in apparently every city in the UK. In excess of 250,000 victims and counting.

No we just need less students and less crap universities doing useless degrees but needing to be financed by foreign immigrants. It's totally out of kilter. We don't need that many people with useless degrees contributing nothing.

Sure.

We need foreign students to keep universities open. We depend on foreign students.

You're arguing that mothers shouldn't study in the UK yet talking about annoying arguments.

I actually think we should let some collapse. We have too many poor quality universities essentially selling degrees as a migration opportunity. I think we should have guilds for trades or a master tradesman attitude that the Germans have. I think we should heavily incentivise those who get into top tier courses or universities or those who have job offers in excess of 100k say. If you are studying chemistry at Oxford I don’t care if you bring granny with you.

Also there are too many economically inactive brits, getting people back into work should be a priority. As a 2nd gen immigrant myself, I get some of this is motivated by racism. There are legitimate concerns over culture I think. For me it’s a simple problem of numbers. We need more uber contributers to make up for the fact that over 50% of the British population take out more than they put in. We need more growth and less dependency. If you are going to basically suck up resources like a hoover then you shouldn’t be considered. If however you are going to be contributing to growth or science and research then yay who cares what you look like or where you come from.

@username299 , we already have a two tier system. Try telling the poor girls who were (and probably still are) victims of the ‘grooming (rape) gangs that we don’t.

You all riled up by Musk?

White people are discriminated against in the UK. 😆

Yeah I don’t care about colour I care about contribution. If people are going to be creating value then they are valuable to me. I suspect you may be a teensy weeny bit racist.

I always want to know the difference between 'immigration' and 'mass immigration'.

The 'mass' is always a bit of a dog whistle sounding word to me. All immigration is probably 'mass' unless you're somewhere like the Vatican letting one person in at a time Grin

Just look at the post 1997 figures and compare with the pre 1997 figures and you will have your (obvious) answer.

Wanting to keep Britain white is far right.
Wanting remigration is far right.
Wanting a two tier system where people of a different ethnicity are treated differently is far right.
Wanting to take away some people's human rights because they're foreign is far right.

Don't come.here to study some crap degree then. I wouldn't go to America to do a degree and expect to bring my entire family unless I could support them all financially and not be a net drain on the economy.

Such annoying arguments at the moment! It's like we've given up as a country.

So you think mothers should be separated from their children for years?

I was induced and kept in labour for six days because there were empty labour rooms and no midwives. Most had returned home after Brexit and Covid.

So my concern is that there are actually not enough immigrants.

Unbelievable. Are we really in this country unable to produce UK trained midwives? Is the training better in countries from where the midwives come from? Unlikely. Labour really need to get on to that one as that is such a ridiculous reason to have to import people to "serve us" and therefore unable to act as midwives in countries that desperately need midwives. And it's a fantastic profession.

Don't allow dependants of students automatic residency.

The NHS worker argument is relevant but self-perpetuating. Those additional incoming workers will need looking after eventually.

No. Far right just means that you're too blinded by the racist rhetoric surrounding immigration to be able to approach the subject rationally, and to understand the considerable net benefit that it contributes to our society.

So if you believe it's a net benefit...is there a limit at which you think it would no longer be beneficial?

Jingleballs2 · 03/01/2025 20:00

Apparently so 🙄
