So does "far right" mean you're concerned about the impacts of mass immigration?

Cause I'm far right if so then!

Genuinely interested to hear what people consider as being "far right". I put it in quotation marks cause the term is so over-used incorrectly, it's actually lost all meaning.

Thailand is full of white child rapists.

MEN are the issue. Now there is a lot of work that needs to be done on the police prioritising women's and girls' safety from SA and DV. That applies to all demographics because the conviction rate is in the toilet.

And police and politicians being keen to avoid investigation and prosecution in all cases means that 'cultural sensitivity' is a good enough excuse to turn a blind eye. But let's make no mistake, there is sex abuse everywhere and white men are at it too.

The Rape for Profit gangs in my region are white. They are white in other areas too and long pre-date 50s, 60s, etc immigration to the UK.

The reasons police in Oldham, Rotherham etc. overlooked the rape gangs are the same reasons police overlook them here.

No. It means they're a bigoted twat dressing up racism as concern.

Not ever heard a far righter campaigning for white Australians or white Americans or any other English speaking and white people to go back to where they came from.

Funny that concern comes with a colour chart.

Because this stuff gets polled globally, we know that the UK is one of the least racist and most open places in the world.

If you find yourself calling the large majority of the world 'far right' (or bigoted twats, if you prefer), might it just possibly be your calibration that's off.

It feels rather grandiose (perhaps even colonialist?) to maintain that your country’s Overton window is the correct one and everyone else is the bigot.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 03/01/2025 19:25

You keep telling yourself that.
And when the next election goes the way the Brexit referendum did, then don’t come whinging.

I will certainly complain if people vote to damage the UK. Their vote is their responsibility, not mine.

legoeverywhere2726 · 03/01/2025 21:28

The thing is humans have been doing this sort of thing since time immemorial. There are winners and losers.

legoeverywhere2726 · 03/01/2025 21:24

I think most westerners would agree the situation in Hong Kong is not ideal where the local culture and language is being diluted/slowly wiped out. But the same people think it's racist to notice this in parts of the UK.

Please explain how the UK has open borders with the whole world. That is simply ridiculous rubbish.

I know we don't.

A poster stated that if you have concerns over numbers you are far right. I asked if they are therefore in favour of open borders... theoretically.

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 03/01/2025 21:19

Far right currently is what being conservative used to mean as the pendulum has swung so far left.

You've obviously made up your mind (so no idea why you are asking) because you say the term of "over-used incorrectly". What might be interesting is if you would care to define "mass immigration" in your goady title, because there is nowhere in the world that has, or advocates, mass immigration. It tends to suggest "floods of immigrants to a place", "excessive numbers of immigrants" and "anti-immigration rhetoric based on falsehoods". All of which yes, I would call far right. So if that ios what you mean, then yes, I agree - you are far right.

Poster was complaining about all the brown faces so yeah.

Ok I missed that

legoeverywhere2726 · 03/01/2025 21:13

@MilitantFawcett yes it's very interesting. If you look at it in terms of overall GDP it doesn't look good for them, but if you analyse in terms of GDP per capita they are doing better than the UK despite no immigration and low birth rates. GDP per capita is a better measure of living standards.

We need to think about how an economy can thrive without increasing its population as a world with billions more people is simply not sustainable.

If you are concerned about the numbers of people immigrating to the UK, then yes that makes you far right. You may not want to believe it but that’s the truth. We have a huge issue in our society with blaming others for our problems. Currently this is perpetuated by a ‘so called’ immigration problem. NHS is a mess because people abuse their bodies. It is completely propped up by immigrants and without them we would be in a far worse situation. Social care is a huge problem because relatives refuse to look after their own. Another area in which immigrants are relied upon and yet berated for not being good enough. Education is in crisis because most parents don’t value it and absolve themselves of any responsibility of raising their own children - guess which children do well? You get the picture!

So are you in favour of us having open borders with the whole world?

LessonsinChemistryandLove · 03/01/2025 21:07

This question of immigration is so often discussed in this country. Can someone please tell me what actually is the problem with immigration?

The UK has a rapidly falling birth rate and without relatively high immigration, the country will be screwed in the near future. Currently, the we need immigrants both skilled and unskilled, to fill the deficit in most public sectors. The number of immigrants that come to this country for the welfare benefits is tiny in comparison to the number of British people on benefits. The number of men who abuse children/women/people is tiny in comparison to the number of British men who abuse etc.

Given the real life benefits of immigration over this risks, what is the actual problem? This conversation has been had in so many racist and non racist ways over generations. Exactly what is the issue? And exactly what do British people want to do to fix it so that immigrants will no longer be needed?

confusedeffie · 03/01/2025 21:06

Comedycook · 03/01/2025 20:30

What do you mean by "oppose immigration"? Do you mean people who object to all immigration or people who have concerns over numbers?

There was actually a court case you can google it. A man tried to join the police he didn’t get in. He decided to probe further with lawyers. He didn’t get as he was white !!! He got compensation. Where I live there has been recruitment drives where ethnic minorities have been told to apply only. Where I work they have specific targets for how many ethnic minorities, disabled and gay people have to be employed in a specific period.

If you also do FOI’s and look at the judicial system and the breakdown on punishment and break it down into race you will also see there’s a huge issue within the policing and judicial system.

Uncontrolled migration is definitely having a negative impact on the UK. It’s nothing at all to do with being racist it’s a fact.

That case was won because the action strayed from positive action (legal and to remove barriers) and into positive discrimination (illegal). Barriers for ethnic minorities in employment are significant and real.

Upstartled · 03/01/2025 21:01

Tarring people with the label of far right just isn't going to be an effective strategy from herein.

When people have been told that they are far right for being gender critical, far right for being concerned about the response to grooming gangs or far right because immigration in recent years has become unsustainable then the accusation has become meaningless.

Worse than meaningless, it actively detoxifies the actual far right. See also, the rise of the afd in Germany.

JRSKSSBH · 03/01/2025 21:01

Nordione1 · 03/01/2025 19:55

Agreed. You can already see issues such as Gaza affecting the election of MPs and their subsequent behaviour. The fact we now have someone standing up in the H of C requesting the return of blasphemy law and the PM saying he will give it consideration. No thanks. I don't fancy living in a country with any Islamic law affecting me, particularly being a woman.

Exactly, we are going to end up with sectarian politics and sectarian problems. Muslim Vote is just the start. The Times ran a great piece about 4 months ago discussing how the British state refuses to allow discussion of ethnic conflict and its different approach to ethnic
minorities rioting and British ethnic-majority rioting.

I have said this before - successive governments have sort to depoliticise the political choice of mass immigration. For Labour and liberals (like Cameron, Johnson) it is a moral choice to allow huge numbers to arrive here. What is immoral is not ensuring there are homes, jobs, etc for all. Yet we can’t - not on the scale coming. Denmark has succeed in reducing its immigration for that very reason. We have to able to deal with the population we have, not keep expanding the numbers. The country’s infrastructure, welfare provision, healthcare, housing stock etc are insufficient.

Whoknew24 · 03/01/2025 20:59

username299 · 03/01/2025 20:40

Do you have evidence to support that? For example, white people being turned down for jobs? Not getting appropriate medical treatment while other races do. Not getting job interviews because of their names?

I'd be interested to see it.

Whoknew24 · 03/01/2025 20:53

Yes having legitimate concerns about the uncontrolled migration to this country labels you far right. Having an opinion, having concerns, questioning anything at all you’re far right.

it’s absolutely ridiculous and they’ve labelled everything far right to try and shut everyone up.

JustSawJohnny · 03/01/2025 20:53

Far right in the UK for the majority just means happily swallowing all of the tropes and repeating the same old shite, it seems. Especially on SM.

Loving Farage, Tommy Robinson, GB News, Katie Hopkins, Trump, Musk et al, plus they all hate the same things - The BBC, immigrants generally, vegans, Starmer, Carol Vorderman, farmers being forced to pay tax etc.

They just follow the crowd in terms of who they rail against and are happy to be told what to think.

There is no actual, cogent argument - just repetition of mostly lies they've read online. There is also no discussion, just shouting and mouth frothing and screams of 'fake news' if met with facts.

I cannot stand them, honestly.

I would have a bit of a problem if I went to a village in Brittany and there were no French people there, or a village in Ireland and half the population were from Nigeria, or a district in Nigeria with no Nigerians and all the occupants were from elsewhere. People should not be forced to become minorities in their own homelands without their consent. White English will be a minority in England by 2070 according to the Independent which is hardly a far-right newspaper. You may think that is a good thing, or a bad thing but it is a thing we should be allowed to discuss.

Do you believe someone who is not ethnically english say can ever be as british as you? Would you ever consider someone who is non white to be British?

User37482 · 03/01/2025 20:50

MilitantFawcett · 03/01/2025 20:34

And yet they are also realising that with an aging population and one of the lowest birth rates in the world, they need to increase immigration significantly. Japanese culture is wonderful but is hard for foreigners to penetrate (much like Iceland now I think about it, another place grappling with questions of how many immigrants is too many) so it will be interesting to see how the govt manages it.

Yup people from the Philippines are moving there to work in elder care, it’s tough though, have to learn Japanese.

User37482 · 03/01/2025 20:48

Tittat50 · 03/01/2025 20:20

Isn't it more about culture, identity and familiarity though? I can see what the poster said and not see it as racist.
