Never seen anything like the U.S. fury and panic

It's really been astonishing how in the last few days, people - mostly of the liberal Democratic party - are staggering with fury and panic over the latest from Trump. It reminds me of the awfulness of his first round, where every morning I would cringe to hear on the radio of a new outrage or scandal.

At present, Trump just nominated for Attorney General, the highest law enforcement office in the country, Matt Gaetz, who, among other crimes, has been under a cloud for sex-trafficking of minors. ("The investigation focused on his alleged involvement with a 17-year-old and whether he had paid for sex or paid for women to travel across state lines for sex, which would violate trafficking laws.")

The majority of Americans voted for Trump, they knew what they were getting and they came out in their droves and voted for him.

They obviously enjoyed Trump part 1 which ended in an insurrection. The military have been in talks about what to do should he order them to turn on civilians.

Anything he does is temporary, this is his last term - we hope. I'm looking forward to the people thumbing their noses at Democrats getting royally screwed over.

I'm not feeling smug about those who stand to lose a lot. There was a woman on Twitter who was harassed by arseholes telling her Trump was going to kick her out. She was very upset.

I imagine that racism, homophobia and misogyny is going to go rise exponentially. He's a pied piper for bigots. He's also going to make his chums a lot richer and the poor a lot poorer. I believe they're going to stop a lot of state help such as welfare and medical treatment.

Instead they're going to devote an awful amount of time and expense on illegal immigrants. Money that could be spent on helping people out of poverty is going to be spent on rounding up and deporting people.

There will be further deregulation, tax breaks for the rich and American businesses will be sold off to the highest bidder. One in four American pigs is now owned by a Chinese company for example and that will increase

The government already looks like the Adam's Family and it's just going to get worse.

It's like a celebrity weirdo cabinet with evil James Bondesque villainry (add in the Russians assassinating people in inventive ways and you could genuinely be in Dr No).

The whole thing is a shitshow. Especially, but not exclusively, Elon Musk buying his way into the US government.
