Women of MN - What do you like about Trump?

He couldn’t have been voted in without the support of women. As a non-Trump fan myself, I’m wondering what is it you like about him? This applies to non-US voters who favour him and would vote for him if possible.

Males are bigger, stronger, faster than females. They are also hugely more violent and more criminal than females. That's why males, whatever they wear, however great their hair and make up, however they 'identify' cannot be in female spaces.
The science on the differences between the 2 sexes - and there are only 2 - is absolutely clear. The fact that it has tended to be the Right which states this doesn't make it any less true or important.
In exactly the same way, it is the Left, rather than the Right, that tends to accept anthropogenic climate change. There is overwhelming evidence of the existence and danger to us of climate change.
Left and Right in America are both tribal, at fault for overusing soundbites, I'd say frankly pretty corrupt, but Trump understanding that males can't be females and mustn't be allowed to take away single-sex rights from females is a point (possibly the only one) in his favour.

There isn't really a 'left' in the US.

The Democrats are a centrist party.

The Trumplicans are far right.

You must know it’s happened already? One mother died with a wanted pregnancy.

another young woman visited three hospitals who wouldn’t touch her as the fetus had a heartbeat. She died of sepsis.

Why would you induce birth with a baby who is before viability! They can’t live!

Agree, this is such an inhumane stance.

Poster is suggesting that it's better to induce a birth of a baby with abnormalities inconsistent with life outside the mother, put that baby through the rigors of childbirth then what? Allow them to die slowly after being born? Or try to resus even with life ending problems? And this is better than quietly stopping a heartbeat while they're safe and cosy and warm?

Mind boggled. Unbelievably cruel.

Edingril · 08/11/2024 09:54

If they didn't want Trump no idea why they went with Harris and if that sticks a labels on it 'omg how can you not think Harris is wonderful amazing just because she was born' I am not bothered

You can be an immigrant PoC-as I am- be fiercely GC- as I am- and still believe that even if Trump knows what a woman he is, he and the rest of his party treats
them like shit.

I have a niece in a super red state. The Republcans know she is a woman. They will still let her die if she wants to get an abortion.

This. It doesn't reassure me that Trump "knows what a woman is".

MrsJoanDanvers · 08/11/2024 09:46

Trump certainly knows what he thinks a woman is FOR!

Isthisreasonable · 08/11/2024 09:24

You can't in all conscience call yourself "pro life" if you will sacrifice the life of the mother to protect the unborn child.

You can't call yourself "pro baby" if you wash your hands of supporting disabled/poor/abandoned babies once they are born

You are "pro forced birth" if you support the delivery of a child regardless of the circumstances and the risk to the mother.

@AccidentallyWesAnderson

There are so few transgender people that statistically, numerically, their existence can never pose a significant threat to the wellbeing of women, no matter how much space they take up in your mind.

If you stopped obsessing about transgender people you'd hardly know they exist.

So no trans woman (male) has ever posed a threat to any woman, anywhere in the world? Not in sports? Look up the Edinburgh Rape Crisis centre. I could do a 'look up...' but I don't have enough time.

If this position wasn't so tragic and wrong I'd laugh. You are making a fool of yourself.

Madcats · 08/11/2024 09:04

Naomi Cunningham published this piece a few days ago; it sums up the issue brilliantly.

www.legalfeminist.org.uk/2024/11/06/sex-peanuts-and-statutory-interpretation/

"It's a tiny minority...." debunked

"Why don't you come up with actual answers as to why women should accept transwomen in their sports and spaces"

Some of us can, we don't see it as an issue.

All the arguments you're using against inclusion of transwomen have been used against lesbians, immigrants, people of colour etc.

Well answer it then, instead of continually side stepping the question.

You can't answer it!

Lesbians (as they are female) have nothing to do with it. Immigrants and people of colour would - if they were men trying to identify into a woman's space.

For such a small number of transgender people it's quite surprising how many policies, changing of language, sporting rules this is affecting, crazy isn't it?

Tell that to Riley Gaines and all the other women who were negatively affected by Lia Thomas, the women incarcerated with men, I'm sure they'd be reassured that 'it's ok, there's hardly any transgender people on the world!', how many is acceptable to you?

If anyone is obsessed with transgender people it's you, you mention it on very single thread I've seen you on.

To ask you for the third (or fourth?) time, why shouldn't women be allowed sports, spaces (including changing rooms, rape crisis centres, prisons, being allowed to choose someone of the same sex providing intimate care) free of biological men regardless of how they identify?

You don't get to decide this for other women

Unfortunately this isn't true. There are men in women's spaces everywhere. I don't know if you've heard of this thing called the Olympics, as well?

"But I like that he knows the difference between men and women."

Everyone knows the difference between men and women.

But some people believe gender is a social construct that is not the same as biological sex. There have always been a tiny number of people who think and live like this around the world and there have always been others who accept these people on their own terms.

The targeting of the trans community by whipping up hatred and fear against them has been a useful political tool for the far right, which has always targeted minority and marginalised groups and used them to create a common enemy.

Oh here you are, still twisting and whipping up women not wanting men in women's sports, prisons, changing rooms, rape crisis shelters to name a few as hating ALL trans people.

Not wanting confused children put onto a pathway of horrific irreversible medical interventions that may cause them a lifetime of pain, infertility and the rest.

Why don't you come up with actual answers as to why women should accept men in their sports and spaces and give actual evidence as to blanket 'trans hate' rather than trot round the boards with this rhetoric? Any evidence of 'hate' towards trans men?

"This separates it from illegal immigration, which is very easily solved.

Climate crisis and conflict around the world means we'll always have refugees and migrants.

It's absolutely not a problem that's 'easily solved'.

Over 40,000 people died last year from guns in the US. If you're so concerned about safety, then that's the place to start.

I'd also be worried about domestic violence, more than 55% of female homicides are carried out by partners. Nearly 1m women have survived being shot by a partner.

How is Trump going to deal with this and protect women?

It’s a big issue that requires careful consideration, and not one easily solved.

This separates it from illegal immigration, which is very easily solved.

When there is a second offender in the crime, it's most likely to be a gang member, which would be a man.

I didn't say anything remotely like what you're claiming I said. I suspect you're just peeved because you got your facts wrong and don't want to admit it, so you are deflecting. Why not free yourself? Face the reality that you've been hoodwinked by white supremacist lies and embrace reality and truth instead.

Gangs don’t tend to be multiracial. But couples often are and the study goes out of its way to reference mixed gender offenders. But never puts forth that an opposite gender partner might result in a white partner getting a lesser sentence.

You are the one seething over basic statistics. You want to call simple numbers ‘racist’ which is pretty telling tbh. Facts themselves aren’t racist.

Idk let’s wait and see. Gun control wasn’t much of an issue this election

Isn’t it likely that the co-offending partner is likely to be a woman, so she’s not going to get the same kind of sentence?

Anyway. I really just want safe streets. You telling me I deserve to live with violence because of the crimes of my ancestors…is not helpful.
