Women of MN - What do you like about Trump?

ShinyTime · 06/11/2024 09:37

He couldn’t have been voted in without the support of women. As a non-Trump fan myself, I’m wondering what is it you like about him? This applies to non-US voters who favour him and would vote for him if possible.

Literally not a single thing.

He's a convicted criminal, people have used his stance on trans in locker rooms etc. as evidence he supports women - he doesn't, he's just been advised it's better for his cause.

He's a disgusting, despicable man and my ghast is flabbered that a single person can even take him seriously. I'm truly revolted.

Combattingthemoaners · 06/11/2024 17:21

Misogynistic, rapist, racist.

Just clarifying. There is nothing to like!

It's not a mystery.

The playbook was written by Goebbels.

Well people talked about that quite a bit too.

No, I’m obviously not okay with that, but I don’t see that that is an inevitable consequence of abortion not being available, as care for a naturally occurring miscarriage, or spontaneous abortion, is not the same as a medically induced abortion. Unfortunately there are no circumstances in which I can be okay with a baby being killed even where the mother’s life is in danger. If a woman will die or be seriously harmed if she remains pregnant, labour should be induced, the baby delivered, and given every chance to survive if past viability. If the baby was killed first, it would still need to be delivered, whether vaginally or by c-section.

As to your other points - I did already say I disagree with Trump. The post asked for what women like about him, so I listed everything that I see as a positive and then concluded I wouldn’t vote for him because his headlining economic policy is lunacy.

Jesus Christ…

SnakesAndArrows · 06/11/2024 17:17

He doesn’t care about abortion enough to want it to be legal or illegal, because it doesn’t affect him personally. And possibly because he doesn’t think the law applies to him. Which perhaps now it doesn’t.

But he does want women to be punished for having an abortion, whether it’s legal or not. Because he doesn’t care about the law, or women.

LoveSandbanks · 06/11/2024 11:06

How can anyone not recognise the hypocrisy between banning abortions and shooting shop lifters and having the death penalty???

To be fair, I've often thought this applies the other way around, too. People being against violence but making light of abortion or taking the piss out of "ridiculous" pro-life activists. They seem to be in denial that foetuses might suffer when aborted. (I still don't think this means women should be forced to give birth, though, but my opinion isn't really relevant!)

Trying to understand why approximately 70m people voted for him is not normalising anything. You might think he's a piece of shit, I might agree but he has been elected president of the most powerful country in the world (for the second time), he won the electoral college and the popular vote. If you are not curious how he managed to do it then more fool you.

It's not a mystery.

That literally is what happens as doctors are terrified of the prospect of long sentences if they treat a woman who isn’t quite at deaths door.

whoamI00 · 06/11/2024 17:14

Your statement seems to imply that women cannot support Trump. However, with only two main candidates, if someone strongly opposes the current administration and wants change, it would be logical not to vote for its candidate.

mathanxiety · 06/11/2024 17:13

GhostCicada · 06/11/2024 16:15

I héard him say that women who have an abortion should be punished. That doesn't sounf pro abortion to me.

He's not anto abortion though.

What he did in the interview where he talked of punishment for abortion was appeal to the sort of men who feel strongly that equality has gone too far and it's time to put women in their place.

His communication strategy is all dog whistles, aimed at the kind of men who admire Andrew Tate and gold toilets.

He was perfectly happy to lose the votes of educated women because they tend to live in states he never had any hope of winning (the traditional blue states where there are big cities and prosperous counties around those cities) or they live in states where they are simply outnumbered (Texas).

It baffles me that a criminal awaiting sentencing can be elected as president of the USA.

I can't claim knowledge of all his policies but I disagree with the headline ones, anti-abortion, death penalty, defence.

Update on his sentencing now he’s been re-elected

What happens to Trump’s criminal and civil cases now that he’s been reelected | CNN Politics

Donald Trump has been reelected to the White House as a convicted felon who is awaiting sentencing in his hush money case in New York and still working to stave off prosecution in other state and federal cases.

It is clearly not hypocritical. It’s like saying, can no one see the hypocrisy between refusing to smack a baby for crying for their nappy to be changed, but still putting a 5 year old on the naughty step. The death penalty is a consequence for anti-social behaviour that harms others. Abortion is the ending of a blameless, pre-born life at the behest of someone else. If you commit a crime punishable by death, you are yourself consenting to being executed.

I don’t know how I feel about the death penalty for shoplifting, but I think for things like murder, rape, child abuse, carjacking, burglary, it is something I am in support of. Deeply anti-social criminality will only be stamped out of the consequences are harsh and the perpetrators are never released to reoffend.

I neither smacked my children nor used the naughty step. Now all well adjusted young adults far away from criminality.

Deeply antisocial criminality will only be solved by addressing the reasons behind that behaviour. The death penalty isn’t a deterrant, it it was you wouldn’t actually need to use it. It’s just vengeful and abhorrent.

No33 · 06/11/2024 17:12

Well, somebody has come out very bold. I applaud you, poster for just being so bold.

Jesus Christ. A bunch of lifeless cells will never be more important than a woman.

I like he puts his country and its citizens first , we here are supposed to be embarrassed and ashamed of being British .

It’s citizens? Really, you think that’s what he’s going to do?

Homeschooling as a rule rather than an exception sounds so deeply fun for women.

Thats the point, remember women aren’t people, they are merely machines to raise children and to be raped at their husbands will.

It was a video clip in a Harris ad that ran during the last two weeks of the race, showing Trump in an interview.

Staggering, isn't it. I've been telling people for decades that a large number of Americans are flat out crazy with hate. Many people told me I was exaggerating, that it's not that bad. Clearly, it is exactly that bad. I hate being right about that. I really hoped enough of them would come to their senses this time, but they just got crazier.
