I think there will be a cabinet reshuffle in the new year and Lammy will be out of the Foreign Office.

Lammy is utterly useless as Foreign Secretary. The fact that Labour openly pinned their hopes (and taxpayers money?) to Kamala means the end to the so called special relationship we had with the US. Starmer needs to rethink his strategy, if he has one at all. Getting rid of Lammy would be a good start.

To be fair so is Trump so they will probably get on really well in person.

Trump will leverage Harry (there is a court case in the USA due to the publication of Spare and street drug consumption/visa applications) with Charles.

I wouldn't be surprised if he rang Charles and asked him what would be the best outcome for him with the Harry situation to get Charles onside, to have some nice Carriage rides down the Mall to Buckingham Palace whilst signing a trade deal.

He's very well connected with the EU, so I suppose it depends where our focus is. I doubt Trump is desperate to visit the UK (at least diplomatically), but we're so inconsequential now after Brexit that it doesn't really matter.

Really we need to focus on diplomacy with the EU and improving trade and bureaucracy, with a view to rejoining in the next 20 years.

I disagree. For all Trump's issues, he's used to working with black people and he's had a lot of women in positions in his businesses and his first administration. The Cons and the Republicans have a lot of policy agreements and Kemi never plays up her race or her sex, she is not an identity politician at all. And then there's the obvious point that the Cons aren't in power and Trump's second term will have ended by the time we have another GE here.

Labour's real problem is that the British politician that's closest to Trump is Nigel Farage, who has been a vocal Trump supporter all along. He was present at Trump's final campaign rally and got a shout out.

Trade agreements would be great but I think we need to acknowledge just how insignificant the UK is on the world stage.
