Starmer's own biographer, Tom Baldwin writing for the Observer published that he had been with the Starmer family himself on July 4th as "They tried to show they were relaxed in this upmarket house Starmer had borrowed from a friend."

Starmer has tried to spin this house as being borrowed for his 'boy's' GCSEs - but the GCSEs were well over and done by July 4th.

I'm wondering what cost so much, he just seems to wear dull suits. Maybe the clothes are all hanging in his wardrobe unworn, with labels on, 'tis very odd.

There’s more! They have just reassigned £30,000 plus from his office expenses to his personal gifts declaration! More clothes! It wasn’t even office expenses. This is just smelling of corruption. Dreadful. It’s just no 10 access in return for money. Utterly hypocritical. Starmer has had well over £130,000.

I just feel so disappointed with it all. I just wanted decency, honesty and transparency. And it's not happening.

My new MP is Sue Gray's son. He received donations from Lord Alli during his campaign and since being elected. At no point during the campaign, or in his literature, did he say who his mother was. I don't care who his mother is. But I feel duped. I just want to feel it's all fair and it's so far from it.

There’s going to be strike after strike in the NHS. Plenty more want their slice of the cakes. Nurses will be striking again soon. Uni lecturers got half what teachers got. None of this and the bloated public sector is sustainable, and that’s before the pensions no one else gets. Of course they planned cutting WFP. The whole barrel load of excuses is dishonest. They knew the Cons were going to find it difficult and would have to rein in spending. Half the alleged black hole is NHS wages increases. Just wait until the budget to find out all the rest of it.

I don’t have an issue with the PM having a car and driver and taking a helicopter. They do deserve to be able to do the job properly and it’s a hell of a job! What is not right is any politician taking £100,000 plus of extra free perks. They were not part of the job. All politicians know the risks. They can seek to reduce them without having a central London flat!

I'm not looking to deflect particularly, but I was picking up on what one person had said, putting a line of Tories in the bin, as if there aren't any nuances and as if everyone is wholly right or wrong.
This thread is not about the policies of the current government. It's about Keir Starmer having another place for his son to have privacy to revise.

Policies:
1.WFP I didn't read the Labour manifesto but as I understand it, the removal of the Winter Fuel Payment from many pensioners wasn't mentioned in it. However, it was done early on. I don't know whether Rachel Reeves knew very well that she was going to do it and kept quiet, or whether she discussed it with Keir Starmer before the election and they both decided they'd do it but not mention it. If it had been in the manifesto it might have have cost them the election. I don't know what the people in her department say to one another at meetings, so I don't know whether she had to change the WFP as an urgent move, or not. Whether she intended to do it or not, they all made sure and still make sure, that they keep trotting out the cliche that she had to do something because they found a hole et cetera, and it's time they stopped going on about it, because even if it's true it's boring and it's had it's day.

2.Cancel the Rwanda plan. Yes, I've no grumbles about cancelling that. I notice that the slogan is now 'Smash the gangs'. We can all go around saying 'Smash the gangs' twenty-seven thousand times a week, but that won't necessarily smash the gangs. By Christmas 2024 or by July 2025 how many gangs will have been smashed? Well, somewhere in a remote corner of Radio 4 there might be a bod who will give the best analysis of that next July.
