I honestly couldn't give a shit about this. My son went and stayed at my parents house to get some peace and quiet. If you'd rented a room there it would have cost a about 150 quid a night on airbnb. Surely this is long the same lines?
Didnt Boris Johnson live in chequers for about six months after he was sacked? At the cost of the tax payer, thats more annoying.

Being candidate for parliament and heir apparent as PM is going to get a lot of attention including the press on your doorstep. Extra jeopardy if you really don't' want your kids over the front pages.

It would be better if our politicians didn't attract donations but that doesn't make accepting them automatically corrupt.

You, or any of your donors, should not be able to buy educational advantage for your child. All children should have access to luxury penthouses to get some peace to revise if it's noisy at home. I thought this was one of Labour's basis rules.

I really hope he paid VAT on this.
