Can't berate Starmer for this but think some parents will be aghast. As it is, he's thrown his poor son under a fucking bus. My dd (this summer GCSE cohort) just said - if you're still doing intensive revision days before exams, unless you're properly clever, it's going to be a shit show.
He's an absolute thundercunt to do this to his child. And despite his "my dad was a toolmaker" shtick, shows once again he hasn't a clue about the living conditions of a great number of children in this country.
And I'm not doing the whataboutary bollox with the Tories. They're all despicable greedy opportunists.

Well, I live in the same area and I didn't have to revise for GCSEs because they're easy to get As in anyway, or were back then, but I had to work very hard for my A levels and had no space at home, too much noise, baby, adults fighting, tv blasting, etc. — just like many boys at that school (which has a high intake of poorer children from the very deprived local area) — so I simply sat in quiet spots on Hampstead Heath to revise.

Really not difficult and doesn't require £20,000. Perhaps £50 - £100 for cafe snacks if it's a rainy summer.

It was a freebie, recorded as being worth more than £20,000 in the register of MPs' interests, from a man who, by pure coincidence I'm sure, obtained access to No. 10, including an official pass.

If you are given the use of something that has a value attached, eg use of a flat or holiday house, it has a monetary value that must be declared. He would have had to pay for the flat on a commercial basis if he had not got it for free. So the value of that gift is added to everything else he’s had. I also repeat: more than anyone else who is a sitting MP. It’s shameless and not acceptable.

You've totally misunderstood (either accidentally or deliberately). No money was handed over, they stayed in a friend's house to give the child some peace and quiet. The house is in London and the market rate is high ( just for context I live in a semi in a suburb of London and the house next door is to let for £7500 a month) He did the correct thing in declaring it. What's the problem?
