16 days later his son finished his final exam on Friday 14th June

I'm my view, it's totally misguided to say the Starmers bought their child an advantage by what they did.

Because his father was standing to become the most powerful person in the country (arguably) the media was camped on his doorstep.
That wasn't the child's doing. So his parents simply returned their child's life back to normal, to allow said child to study.

Big deal? I don't think so.

Exams were over. Next excuse?

The flat was 'borrowed' from 29th May to 13th July this year. GSCE exams started on 9th May, and the last exam was sat on 19th June. Honestly, anyone swallowing this whole 'it was for my son' shite is either genuinely thick, or about to get a massive headache due to the cognitive dissonance they're experiencing. The fucking hypocrisy is unreal.

To be fair Nu Labour under Tony Blair was just as bad. His children went to state schools but the schools he got them into were very interesting.

Exactly. Just because there might be a vacant room in the Ritz right now - doesn’t mean I am entitled to a ‘notional’ free stay - because it wasn’t being used anyway.

If that’s the case, I’m ready to stay in whichever of the following currently has a free room- the Dorchester, Claridges, Mandarin Oriental lol. They weren’t making money on it anyway. 🙄

Those who retired from 2016 aren't entitled to it. And I know/knew some poor pensioners who suffered due to that.
Very wealthy pensioners including millionaires got it automatically. And I know some pensioners who fall into this camp.

The hypocrisy of this, in the context of VAT on school fees, is staggering. When parents of kids with SEN have raised the point that their child really struggled in a state school and has only been able to thrive in private, Labour's response has been 'well, what about all the kids with SEN who don't have the luxury of that choice?' The exact same is true here. There are thousands of kids in this country who don't have a quiet space to revise, because of unsuitable housing or difficult family circumstances - they don't all have a millionaire pal to lend them a spare room to revise in. How very DARE Starmer lecture private school parents about using their privilege to gain a better education for their children when he is doing precisely the same thing.

I'll point out that 20k is way more than I've ever paid for a year of private schooling.

People in professional jobs in law, finance etc aren't allowed to accept any freebies these days.

One rule for Keir, one for everyone else. His kid should have revised in his bedroom like everyone else's, with noise cancelling headphones if necessary.
