She’s impressive! I’ve never heard such a rapturous reception for a Democrat candidate. I love that her audience is taking the chant of USA back from Trump. Nominee VP Walz looked like he was close to tears at their reception.

Hoping against hope that they see the vile specimen that is Trump off in November.

That's a good idea, let's check out those demographics.

63% of USPS managers are white. 38% of executives are women (compared to 46% of the workforce)

"Controlling for factors such as tenure, GAO found employees from historically disadvantaged groups earned less than their white colleagues. Black, Asian and Latino employees earned between 1% and 1.5% less than white colleagues among front-line supervisors, 3% to 5% less than middle-management coworkers and 5% to 9% less than executive colleagues."

“Although USPS employs one of the most diverse workforces in the nation, certain historically disadvantaged racial or ethnic groups and women continue to be underrepresented in USPS leadership positions relative to the overall USPS workforce,” GAO said.

So inconvenient when facts can so easily be checked, isn’t it?

Oh, give me a break! Right: women are sooo downtrodden! Boo hoo.

Check out the demographics of the US Postal Service. Do you know how HARD it is to get hired at USPS if you are white? or the US Civil Service? If you can't check "black" don't apply.

The everyone but so and so is becoming the dangerous thing. It is where US is with Biden. It is where they will go with KH. As someone explained she only go a minuscule support in the past to get to a presidential nomination. Politicians who never stood a chance are getting in to block someone else to government not because they are credible and apt for the role. Here is all the usually suspects pushing the agenda. Also, the media like CNN I can’t believe they are allowed to make comments to influence people. Not sure is the way it is in the US but really incredibly how bias they are. The celebrities will be ok. George Clooney can move outside when the shit hits the fan. The middle class would have to make all the sacrifices and the poor would be kept in their same place with some crumbles.

How on earth is she dim? Attorney general
for the world’s sixth biggest economy,vp, presidential candidate. Would you be so critical of a male candidate and why on earth are you not saying the same about Trump and JP ‘cat ladies’ Vance?

I think this is unfair.

The previous poster made some relevant points. Harris got less than 5% of the vote when she ran against Clinton, Klobochar etc in the primaries.

That is not to say we don’t want her to win - of course we do.

she may turn out to be the best ever.

But it is wise not to elevate her so high that all she can do is fall.

I deplore giving support to DJT but there has yet to be a candidate better than he. And if you think DJT is dumb think again, darlin.

I give you....

I rest my case.

Don't confuse brains with highly paid advisors. The man has the intellectual capacity of my pet Whippet. I should back that up by saying my pet Whippet is probably the world's dumbest dog.

Sheri - darling.

Step back to 1950. A time when the Cold War would have given the tiniest bit of credence to your bizarre and completely unintelligible support of Donald Trump.

Aside from all of his worst traits, he is dumb as a brick. His use of the English language is at kindergarten level.

Wake up and extract some critical thought. Hezbollah isn't on your doorstep yet.

Scraping the barrel to get rid of Trump. This is the platform Harris is running on, and Biden ran on against Trump. There are so many people in America regretting that decision: hoped to "get rid of Trump".

I am FAR from a right wing "Trumper" imagined - whatever one imagine a far right wing "Trumper" to be but in America the President does NOT declare war. So as for him being viewed and labeled as "dangerous" is more media hypertype.

Trump is hated in the Democratic Party, so they do everything they can do to "get rid of Trump" - the only danger Trump is to is the far LEFT Democratic Party.

All candidates have their strengths and weaknesses. To vote without studying and knowing the positions of a candidate other than "get rid of him" and "he is dangerous" without saying WHY is extremely irresponsible. It is like women who vote for the other party because of ONLY the candidate's abortion position or because a candidate is polkadot, or a woman. Being a woman, or semi-black or semi-white does not qualify a person to lead a country.

Am a woman. It would be kinda nice to see a woman in the White House, sure, but I would not vote for Kamala Harris because of her RECORD and background and she is a progressive and has a progressive record from far back. Democrats are trying to KEEP progressives from taking over their Party. U.S. "Democrat" progressives: do not back Israel, they side with the likes of the terrorists HAMAS and HEZBOLLAH not even realizing the Palestinians are at the mercy of the groups, and backed my Iran; Iran who has no CONTROL of the terrorist factions it supports!

And as for the comments in here about women having to work twice as hard as men - that is garbage from the 70s and 80s.

A woman makes it in this world today, if she has the drive, desire and intelligence. Stop BLAMING men, stop BLAMING others for what only you can control: your choices.

Of course it’s true. Women’s rights were set back decades when Roe v Wade was overturned. You can argue that misogyny and sexism no longer exist until you’re blue in the face, the evidence against your view is overwhelming. Ignoring the political context doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

R vs W did NOT set back women's rights.

It rightly corrected a ruling that was wrong in the first place (not about whether or not you can have an abortion) but a ruling that should have been legislated correctly.

The US Constitution has never said abortion is a Constitutional right to an abortion. That would negate a fetus' life has less rights than a mother.

EACH state has the responsibility of determining their own laws and abortion rights are not a FEDERAL issue nor should they ever be.

A woman can STILL get an abortion if she chooses to and it has been relatively easy to do so for over 50 years now. One could get a safe abortion before R vs W, too.

Women's rights are being set back more by women doing a hook-line-and-sinker into radical LGBTQ marches. It makes women look as if they drift with their wims and the next "fashion trend" that makes them in the "popular crowd" in jr high. Don't get me wrong, not ALL women..but too many just jump on the first bandwagon....and some men do it too but not nearly like women do.

BIossomtoes · 12/08/2024 08:23

Not only that but you had to be twice as good to get there in the first place. Statistically men will apply for jobs if they meet some or most of the requirements in the person spec, women only apply if they meet all of them. In Harris’ case add being a woman and being black together and her achievements point to someone with unquestionable ability.

Oh, give me a break! Right: women are sooo downtrodden! Boo hoo.

You’re right. Even at my local government level (I’m on our city council) it’s true. I’m always twice as prepared as all the men because I have to be. I do far more research than they do because I know if I open my mouth and say something, I better be able to back it up.

@Sheri99 ’No one is entitled to the wealth of another man's hard labor.’

😂😂😂😂 do you know how capitalism works? How do you think billionaires become billionaires. A lot of hard labour is being done in those Amazon warehouses to make a a few people at the top very wealthy…if that’s your political belief then Harris is definitely not left wing enough for you. Better find a socialist party to put your vote behind.

Oh go pound sand. "Knows economics"?! Suuuuure... hence all the harebrained tariff schemes that have economists in conniptions because they'd massively reduce national wealth.

This is as true for men as women; in any job anyone must be prepared and able to back themselves up.

Honestly, I think women worry more and over-prepare in lots of job positions, I certainly do and it has nothing to do with men, it has to do with me wanting to be the best at what I am responsible for.

I didn’t say they had to work twice as hard. I said they had to be twice as good. And I stand by it. Sexism is as rife now as it was 40 years ago, they just hide it better.

Oh Lord, don't turn it into trans politics. Because the GOP may "know what a woman is" in your opinion but they think she should be barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen with no rights. The situation in the US is simply not the same as the UK. If changes need to be made in treatment for children we need to be talking to the AAP, not to members of state legislatures who don't know how the female reproductive system works.

Oh, God, no: "We need to be talking to the AAP...".

I stopped my years long subscription to the AAP journals because they have their heads up their backsides and want to dictate politics AND the raising of children. Nope - parents raise the kids, not some AAP fools. AAP has gone completely off their heads. They are supposed to give unbiased information, they are FAR FAR from unbiased. Give an educated person a pen and with hold the common sense, and you have worse than ignorant, you have dangerous.

American's need to involve and speak to members of the legislature and VOTE in order for policy to be moved. Many of those in the legislature are females who have reproductive systems and know full well how they work.

For example: Americans have voted out this term, TWO of the progressive "Squad" members because those two (female) legislators were too hard LEFT and were not taking all constituents' points of view into consideration.

Dim is a word one can use for men or women, or headlights.

Example: Biden is dim. He does not have all his oars in the water.

Harris is dim in that she has no earthly idea she is being USED by the Democratic elites. Just like Biden was USED by the elites: to try to get rid of Trump because he is a candidate they, nor the irresponsible factions of the Republican Party can manipulate easily. He is not in it for the money or the glory, he is in it because he believes in America. He has a terrible demeanor and presentation in some instances - one of haughtiness - but he is not even close to dim.
