Just that.

Imagine Mr. Trump is not a happy bunny today.

Is being "suitable" a qualification the US people require from their candidates?

The White House resident elected in 2016 would indicate it’s not.

She would have to start from scratch for campaign money wouldn’t she?

No idea how much Biden / Harris have or if it’s doable to get the amount needed

I don't think so. Biden isn't the official candidate until the DNC (Democrat National Convention) in (I think) September. Until then they can choose another candidate.

He has no political experience. What makes him fit to run for President??

An actor was voted into office previously - Ronald Reagan. Precedent already set.

Although he didn’t move from actor to President, as he was Governor of California
in between.

Michelle Obama is the only democrat who consistently polls to beat Biden in a head-to-head. She is currently fourth in the betting at about 30/1.

She has consistently said she is not interested, but how many have said that before?!

She knows how to campaign and what being president entails. If anyone can be parachuted in last minute, I think she is the one.

To beat Trump.

Must be evidence of impending senility!

Trump wasn't governor of anywhere first. He went straight from being a failed business man to the White House.

Yes but I don't think "It worked for Trump" is a strategy the Democrats will want to follow!

I don't follow US politics closely but they can surely find someone in their existing ranks.

Perhaps Biden is in fact no longer with us and is a carboard cut out/hologram.
Its beyond embarassing.

I think Biden will have to go but I wouldn't like the Democrats chances at winning with Kamala as the nominee. I may be entirely wrong and doing the lady a disservice but as far as I understood she wasn't necessarily favoured by the electorate.

Her drink problem might be an issue.

’her husband’
So we get Obama pulling the strings and puppet wife ruling the world??? How can anyone think this isn’t bonkers???

@Bewareofthisonetoo 🤣 really can't see Michelle being a puppet!

But she has def said she would never run. Which is a massive shame 😔

I’ve seen a couple of posts re campaign money only for the two on the ticket so not sure GC or anyone else can stand in

newnamethanks · 12/07/2024 07:45

The situation itself is beyond reason. Any 'solution' is going to be bonkers. The whole thing is utterly insane. I can scarcely credit the USA is blithely striding into electing a fascist who will then abolish elections. And the alternative is nearly as bad. Madness.

There's rumours they'll parachute Michelle Obama in last minute. Her husband still meets with world leaders on the down low regularly.

She’s categorically said she would never run.

I think Michelle Obama has ruled out a politely career . I really like her though. Her autobiography, becoming is worth a read.

Yes but I still don't understand why closeted men get to tell us what to do, how to vote and what to think.
Why do they get to do that when they're not honest about their personal lives?

Why do they get to leave it to other gay people to risk coming out?
Why do they get to sit back while other gay people who come out have to deal with all the positive and negative attention of coming out?
It's not honest or authentic.

You're spouting rubbish, unless you've seen the "closeted man" actually having sex with a man, then you don't know shit!

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 11/07/2024 16:36

"Yes but I still don't understand why closeted men get to tell us what to do,"

Why not? You can call it closeted and dishonest but someone else may just say that people don't want their sexuality up for discussion. Or is it that you have an issue with gay people, or with Democrats?
