Who succeeds Sunak?

So presumably Rishi will follow the usual script and resign as Conservative leader.

Who replaces him? Of former contenders, Jeremy Hunt (just), Kemi Badenoch and Suella Braverman are still in the House of Commons. Are there any newer names who may put their hats in the ring?

Boris is obsessed with repeating the success of winston Churchill and to make a comeback so I wouldn’t rule it out once he’s made enough money to send Mrs Johnson’s kids through private school like the other 4 (obviously he now needs to find another 20%). The only other candidate rabid enough to placate the far right would be Farage.

If the tories had been sensible in the first place and elected Hunt, they’d still be in power as it would’ve been the battle of the John Majors for both parties and better the devil you know.

Labour congratulating themselves on the ‘Leadership’ of KS are deluded. They’ve won because of the Tories eating themselves. Yet again. Putting up a candidate who had received the same fine as Boris over partygate was the very definition of insanity.

Having had dealings with her, she is dangerous, reproducing information as her own, misconstruing what is going on, getting involved with limited understanding and inflaming situations, just when issues had been calmed and resolved by all stakeholders.

And all to get her voice and views out there in the media.

Yep, a Barrister whose misrepresentation of the law around Gender Recognition Certificates was either ignorant or wilful deceit.

Of those 3 I hope Hunt goes for it. He’s not my cup of tea but he’s not as awful as the others. That said, whether he gets it isn’t down to random LibDem voters on mumsnet (me), The Tory membership will almost certainly vote for a right winger like the 2 you mentioned…
