I have not voted Reform and live in a safe tory seat But I voted Lib dem tactical vote I said ages Ago on here the reform would do really well and was shouted down. Same as brexit, no one will admit voting for reform but They still do it in droves it seems. I'm Willing to bet they Might win an election in four years at this rate!! Scary Times

point being any party can say x and then offer x plan but those plans still dont have to amount to anything, just as long as they can lead the public to believe in the party, and when the public are easily led eg bell weather marketing, then distractions eg football etc

The danger is if the Conservatives lean into this. Cameron only promised a referendum on Brexit because of the threat of UKIP. If the Conservatives feel that acting like Reform will win them votes they’ll do it.

We all know that a good chunk of the population are racist.

We would never have had a Brexit vote at all if it weren’t for them and the opportunist politicians who stirred them up (Farage and right wing Conservatives).

I think we should be proud of the fact that their results are so piss poor, unlike in France and the US and elsewhere. You’ll never eradicate racists but you can relegate them to a sideshow.

I always thought Labour were meant to represent the working class ordinary people of the deprived ex-industrial communities - places like Blackpool, the Medway towns and Wales - and not the professional middle and metroplitan classes of London, the South East and the University cities. I'm not surprised at all that Reform has won votes from Labour as well as from the Tories.

Labour abandoned the non-middle class, non-professional working classes many years ago. Labour now despises them.

I’m not surprised that Reform are doing well and I understand why, but I’m surprised at 13 seats. That’s a somewhat stronger showing for them than I thought.

I’m Labour so I’m pleased with the landslide but it’s put a bit of a dampener on it.

The exit poll has 7 of those seats as too close to call, Reform may end up on 6 or 20.
The first serious indication of the exit polls validity is Labour outperforming the projection in Swindon South. A one off or?

It all depends on lots of things, it isn't about the number of seats Farage will have no power to do anything but will have a large public profile over the next five years to influence the debate and peoples minds . If Labour fail to deliver the results people want that makes people more vulnerable to Farage and Reform. We also need to be looking at what percentage of the vote they get, not just how many seats.

I hope you're wrong.

I have this image in my mind of Farage getting through political parties like Kleenex. He literally needs a new disposable party each time out. They seem to self destruct.
