Reform are getting a shitload of voters

I voted Reform, my daughter voted Reform, my mother (an immigrant from S.E. Asia) voted Reform. Three generations of women in my family have voted for Reform. We are not ill-educated, or racist or any other insult that might be thrown at us. We looked at the manifestos/contract of each party. We looked at each party and agreed with some things but not necessarily everything. Reform was the best fit at this time.

I really am hoping for a change, I personally am gutted that I couldn't in my heart vote for Labour, who I think will throw women and child safeguarding under a bus. I long for some common sense, I long for a party that won't oppose something, even if it is a great idea, just because they are the opposition. I really want some common sense.

I mean, a lot of people did.

The ones that didn't, I've come to the conclusion that's a choice they've made at some level.

There was a convicted paedophile giving an interview who said he was voting Reform due to him not being able to get a job as a result of immigrants. And not because he had a criminal record! He claimed the conviction was “assault” but it was later uncovered by online sleuths he sexually assaulted a pre- teen girl!!

He chose to blame that on migrants and asylum seekers rather than the fact he’s a pervert and it’s on his record. Probably had zero qualifications either, very sloppy looking and most of all a paedo - who would hire him??.

We all know someone like this, maybe not a sex offender but utterly reckless and feckless not trying to better themselves while blaming “immigrants” and “boat people”.

Sick of corrupt politicians pandering to people like this - using their rage against brown people as a useful distraction from their corrupt ways.

Migrants are paying taxes for scum like this to use public services such as the NHS (often staffed by them) and claim their benefits.

Reform voters - along with the right wing pandering political elite & media - have helped run this country into the ground and I’ve no sympathy for them. They are all racists. Rich or poor. Period.

It's a known tactic designed to reduce the strong left-wing student vote in university cities. It happened in 1992 as well and was, in part, what helped John Major win a small majority.

Makes sense, but it's not just the students themselves. It's the graduates who stay on and the others who choose the most cosmopolitan spot in the county.

University cities are usually more ethnically diverse, too.

When was the Brexit referendum? Spring? Can't remember. But the university cities were remain blind surrounded by leave areas in many places.

We've been tip toeing around them for ages, bending over backwards to accommodate them. How's that going? I think it's about time we called them out for what they are. And I think this character of Leave/Reform voters being the poor downtrodden is just wrong. Well heeled, home countries pensioners voted Leave in droves and I'd be amazed if they didn't vote Reform in large numbers as well.

Of course you're wrong. Racism is the biggest tagline of Reform. When people who vote Reform say they 'want change' the biggest thing on their mind is immigration. The party is led by Farage for goodness sake!

Why does everyone keep saying those voting Reform aren't listened to- they won Brexit! It might not have been Brexit-y enough for them in reality, but they did win. Rishi did try to please them with the Rwanda plan, even though it was a bit slow.

I agree with you that all the parties are crap at the moment. I very nearly spoilt my ballot.

Reform votes are immense!!!! Doesnt make any difference of course as Labour seats are all that matters but crikey it will make for an interesting few years to come in right wing politics. Tory will go further and further right and gain back ground.

Listen I am a middle class, middle aged white privileged, London liberal (well now live in the naice bit of Kent) buuuut we have to change our thinking on this. Brexiters are not thick ( they maybe misinformed) neither are they racist ( they may be mistaken that immigration is the problem). Please, please don't fuel this anger and division. I didn't vote reform but know many people who did who wouldn't have dreamt of doing so a few years ago. When asked why they voted Reform their reply is usually "we've had enough"

I only voted Labour because I always have. I'm disillusioned with them all. It'll be the same shit, different party. How can you not understand why people are turning to the far right? People are desperate for change, desperate.
