The UK is about to enter a nightmare much darker than anyone yet realises

Allister Heath has written an article in the Telegraph couched in dire, apocalyptic language. It's all about what would happen if the LibDems managed to overtake the Tories and form the Opposition instead.

(That's something the polls suggest is unlikely but still possible. They're much, much closer than at any previous election. So it's not just fantasy.)

The thing is, depending on your political stance, what he is describing could be considered brilliant rather than a horror story.

What a lot of nonsense.

The reality is that the past 14 years have been an apocalyptic nightmare for many people due to shit Tory governments, Brexit, NHS waiting lists, lack of affordable housing and the cost of living crisis.

Of course the Torygraph is worried that the little people might actually want to redress the situation and vote have a new, grown up government in charge as it means no more dodgy government contracts for rich mates and tax loopholes for corporate companies..

See I think that's what we experienced a couple of years ago with the cabinet laughing at us over their champagne, lying to the Queen, striding about wearing Russian Barbie costumes, bankrupting us all, wanting to opt out of international human rights laws, etc.

The Left-wing stormtroopers who are about to seize the keys to No 10 will enjoy almost unimaginable power, and will be far more competent at wielding it to annihilate their enemies than the Tories ever were.

And that's just one sentence.

Heath always writes this sort of apocalyptic nonsense. He has become a parody of himself. He is pandering to typical retired Torygraph readers who think Britain started going to the dogs back
in the 90s.

That’s the 1890s, not the 1990s, of course.

Have you not been following all the polls? They have them within a handful of seats of the Tories, or even at parity.

Why? Because Labour, the LibDems and Greens are chipping away at the Tories from one side, and Reform from the other. Net result: the Tory vote is going to be way, way down in many constituencies.

Lol. I can well imagine that that would be a dark nightmare for those at the Torygraph. Would be brilliant for the rest of us though! Sadly, I don't think it's going to happen though.

Terrifying, but as a Tory voter even I think that they have themselves to blame. Politics is a cycle. Whatever Lab and the Lind do can be undone.
