Is Keir Starmer too boring to be prime minister?

I'm now looking forward to politics being so boring I don't have to worry about it, because things just happen like they used to pre Tories:

• I can get a doctors appointment,
• nurses, teachers and care staff are well paid and motivated
• my kids have a chance of owning their own homes
• Councils have enough money to clean the streets and fill the potholes
• asylum seekers are assessed in a timely and humane manner and if their claim is accepted they are allowed to build their lives in the UK without relying on the UK taxpayer

The appointments of Sir Patrick Valance and James Timpson are very not-boring indeed. I'm really impressed with those two.

Is Keir Starmer too boring to be Prime Minister? No.

Rather a "boring" Prime Minister than a "personality" one or stoking up fears one.
Makes me feel the grown ups are back in charge and a bit "safer" all round 🙂

It's not a politician's job to be entertaining. We have entertainers for that. Would you rather a clown like Boris again? Give me dull but decent and get the job done.

Johnson has if he were on a TV debate the same time as Starmer I believe most would tune into what Johnson has to say more

That doesn’t make him a good leader but he is good at playing politics that is why he became PM

having charisma doesn’t equal being a good, honest, decent person but it’s gains you attention the press love it (Blair for instance) even if it’s to become the politician you love to despise and by gaining that extra attention gives you a platform for your voice to be heard over others

I think I'd choose Starmer over those two any day.

No he isn’t charismatic

but he is intelligent will get on with the job, will be able to deal with difficult negotiation here and internationally, he is a man of integrity

what is isn’t is politically savvy someone who is good at politics isn’t necessarily a good leader

I think he can bring back some pride to the UK and I am looking forward to him being PM

We did at least manage to establish earlier that @Paul2023 believes in the rule of law and so is pleased that there are lawyers that are willing to represent those accused of horrific crimes.

Sorry to disappoint, but:

While the Post Office itself prosecuted hundreds of post office operators based on the faulty Horizon IT system, it has emerged from official reviews that 10 cases taken by the CPS resulted in convictions. Three occurred while Starmer was DPP.

(Apparently he wasn't even aware of those three cases as they never crossed his desk).

No connection with Starmer thankfully.

That was only one of the answers he's given. Previously he said a woman is whatever Boris Johnson said. I dare say if he got a big enough bung from Blossom Hill he'd go all Swiss Tony and tell us a woman is like a fine wine.

Farage got community noted for saying that with:

Royal Mail Horizon prosecutions were private criminal prosecutions.

“This is not uncommon in England. Organisations like the RSPCA regularly bring private criminal prosecutions.

“The Crown Prosecution Service (and Director of Public Prosecutions) are not involved in these.”

Summarised, the Post Office prosecute their own cases and the CPS that Starmer led had no say or power over it
