If there was a GE today who would you vote for?

Bit cheeky but I’m curious to see if there are genuinely any Tory voters out there at all following another disastrous week for Rishi Sunak.

So who would get your vote?

I‘ll go first, I would vote Labour. As much as I would love to hear more on policy and a firm grittiness from them, I do understand that Keir Starmer is doing the best he can, in that he can’t alienate a large proportion of the electorate so needs to toe the line.

@jgw1 Because he is stirring up yet more culture wars and sacrificing the environment in the meantime. Not to mention his ludicrous claim to scrap nonexistent taxes on meat and flying 🙄

I would rather be a country with high ambitions on climate change and take action to lead the way. We could create jobs with this mindset instead of alienating manufacturers who haven’t a clue where they stand now!

I don't think any of the major parties is good enough, so I'm going to vote for a genuinely local candidate, if we have one. If not, then a Monster Raving Looney or the most amusing YouTuber

Yes he has scrapped imaginary policies that didn’t even exist, well done Rishi! And he’s pissed off the manufacturing sector who now have no idea if they’re coming or going with electric cars. Net Zero would CREATE jobs and be a net benefactor to the economy. Well done Rishi. Obviously Labour for me.

Probably conservative, I cannot vote Labour as they seem intent on penalising middle earners.

I would vote the Tories out. Round here that looks like Lib Dem.*

LD and Labour need their heads banging together though. We have a majority of voters on the left of the political spectrum and a perpetual Tory government. We’re just playing into their hands.

*I don’t agree with LDs on self-ID but quite frankly even the Tories are unreliable on this.

How has it been a bad week for Sunak?

He has scrapped some bonkers proposals like the meat and veg tax, and the car share karaoke compulsion. These are the important issue that the Prime Minister should be dealing with and will make life better for all of us.
