If there was a GE today who would you vote for?

Bit cheeky but I’m curious to see if there are genuinely any Tory voters out there at all following another disastrous week for Rishi Sunak.

So who would get your vote?

I‘ll go first, I would vote Labour. As much as I would love to hear more on policy and a firm grittiness from them, I do understand that Keir Starmer is doing the best he can, in that he can’t alienate a large proportion of the electorate so needs to toe the line.

He has scrapped some bonkers proposals like the meat and veg tax, and the car share karaoke compulsion

But these weren't even real policies!

I'd vote for whomever would get rid of my Tory MP. Right now I'm not actually sure whether Labour or Lib Dem would be that party in my constituency because it seems to be close.

I’m not voting tories btw, but the state of cost/standard of living isn’t just happing in the U.K.

The public voted for Brexit, including many solid Labour voters.

I could vote Labour or Liberal but the Conservative majority here is so big that a donkey wearing a blue rosette would win.

How could they be worse? Look around you at the state of the country. Look at the state of our public services. Look at your own bank balance. Please tell me exactly how they could be worse?

It's Keir, not Kier. He's far less cringe than Sunak who is so weak he couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag.

Sunak the strong took the bold step of allowing you to buy diesel cars until 2035, although motor manufacturs won't be allowed to sell them.

Prob lib dems for radical reasons labour have no chance here in Gosport, Caroline dineage is our MP here she has been for quite some time, but I don't know why the decline in this town is evident, she only shows up for a photo opportunity, after the last 13 years its time for change

Tories have been in power for 32 of the last 45 years (with New Labour hardly being left wing either). The result is that the the NHS is imploding, cost of living is becoming unmanageable, house ownership has absolutely plummeted…

Would have to vote conservative as Labour would get rid of charity status for private schools which means we would have to disrupt our children’s schooling as we couldn’t afford the 20% increase in fees and her 2 best friends would lose their 100% bursary as they wouldn’t be able to offer them anymore. How about Labour promising to make all schools so good that people wouldn’t want to pay for private rather than taking away that choice for most people unless you are super wealthy.

I'm not a huge fan of Starmer but if you're going vote to let the Tories in again at the next election because you just find Keir "totally cringe" then god fucking help you, or more importantly, everyone else.

I'm sorry but the protection of women and girls is a big issue for me and Labour have shown they absolutely can't be trusted on that matter, they are either stupid, science deniers or so far in the pockets of stonewall etc that they are just puppets at this point. Even their supposed backtracking is clearly a cynical 'oh shit this could cost us votes' move

The Greens are even further into the vat of Koolaid and I would struggle to even tell you who leads the Lib-dems now or what they stand for.

But I can't vote Tory either, because of their track record.

So it isn't fatigue, it is that the whole damn lot of them deserve to get in the bin and therefore I CAN'T vote for any of them because I just won't vote for any party that dismantles our rights

At the moment, I feel like voting for the Monster Raving Looney Party (if it still exists).
I am unlikely to vote for the three major parties, so the real choice is whether I bother to vote; spoil my ballot paper, or vote for some obscure fringe party.
It is unlikely to make much difference to my area anyway.

Dont believe this, almost offended by the suggestion. I feel confident if we redistributed wealth, everyone would have enough to be comfortable. Whatever that means. Wealth inequality is quite a global problem which adds to the complication, but not buying that there isn’t more the UK can do.

Please don't start on the million empty homes you know. They are owned by people, often who live in Dubai and Hong Kong, but no one can really be sure because anyone can buy a house here and hide who it belongs to.

It is very important that these people keep homes here and continue to make donations to the Tory party.

Anything about his policy compared to the tories? Being a ‘drip’ doesn’t really cut it, he is much more credible than Rishi, Boris and Liz surely? He was the the director of public prosecutions, a real and very important job, I think he could be more gritty, but I’m so fed up of ‘personality’ politics. Look what happened with Boris Johnson when people voted on a false character that was purposely created to fool the general public!

Honestly really curious as to why you would vote conservative after the past 13 years.

Also understand the fatigue with politics and the ‘not voting’ people but surely you want to use your democratic power to make change?
