Roller skating as the default mode of transport.

HarrietSchulenberg · 27/04/2023 22:41

Horses to be given for free to those who loved them the most. Little girls who only had ponies because their parents were rich and thought it would be cute for their daughters to ride to be flogged in public, preferably by the little girls who desperately wanted one but had skint parents.
No-one's dad should have to work nights or at Christmas.
Margaret Thatcher to be locked in a coal mine on her own.

HelloVeritas · 27/04/2023 22:40

Maths lessons illegal
Ditto Cross Country Running

Pickled Onion Monster Munch to a compulsory lunch snack by law.

Spudlet · 27/04/2023 22:30

turkeyboots · 24/04/2023 09:09

Ponies for all.

Came here to post exactly that. Ponies everywhere.

Boomboom22 · 27/04/2023 22:27

Dogs all banned
Cannabis legalised
Harsh on serious crime
Way too far left for grown up me on everything else

otherwayup · 24/04/2023 09:11

It would be illegal to eat meat.

Age 52 I'd still be happy about that to be fair!

turkeyboots · 24/04/2023 09:09

Ponies for all.

can be anything

What would yours be?

CurlewKate · 24/04/2023 09:03

No Rugby blue big brothers carrying you upstairs by the ankles.
No soup.
No maths.

Giggorata · 24/04/2023 08:37

No nuclear weapons, no school uniforms, cannabis to be legalised, more woods to be established, felling of ancient woodland to be banned (can you tell I was pissed off at the loss of woodland locally?), illegal for fields not to have hedgerows, squatting unused buildings to be encouraged, more music programmes and venues, free shops to be established in every town (a sort of physical version of Freecycle).

bluechameleon · 24/04/2023 08:05

No PE. Boarding schools for all à la Chalet School/Trebizon (although I wouldn't have actually wanted to be away from my family). More cats. Fewer dogs.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 24/04/2023 05:48

All girls will be taught football in PE.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 24/04/2023 04:20

Everyone should swim every day, at least once.

SoNoWrecksToday · 23/04/2023 23:28

Integrated soda streams as standard building regulations requirement.

Also buildings over one storey must include a fireman’s pole and/or slide exit.

DustyOwl · 23/04/2023 23:28

Dancing/disco opportunities whenever required (which would be always). Playing whatever music each person wanted.

No one should be homeless, mattresses to be given to anyone on the streets (I really thought I could do this as I loved my bed so much).

No sexism, racism, homophobia or stereotyping of any kind. (I put anti-fascist league stickers all over my small town).

Cheese and/or mayonnaise on most food.

Camping allowed anywhere, beaches, fields, mountains etc. (I wanted to live in a double decker bus).

Anything with mushrooms in or tasting of mushrooms banned.

GreenDressy · 23/04/2023 23:27

The Police (band) would actually be the police (force).

drawingmaps · 23/04/2023 23:23

Better education of children on disability (ok so I probably wouldn't have worded it like that, but my very first memory of explicitly noticing and getting angry about how badly my disabled peers were treated by other kids is from age 8. Also got left out a lot bc of my own undiagnosed disability so general being not a dick lessons would've been good).
Books everywhere, for everyone who wanted it, for free (still think access to literature and non-fiction is important).
Orchestra and choir for everyone who wanted it, for free (still think music education is important).
Children allowed to just read all the time and not have to do maths or write up science experiments! (wouldn't go for this now but it would have been a favourite policy between the ages of 5 and 14).

HathorsFigTree · 23/04/2023 23:14

Compulsory vegetarianism and an end to animal testing.

Music venues everywhere.

Porn being banned.

Big camping fields everywhere so people could set up alternative communities using bartering instead of money.

An end to the building of all new roads.

Marsyas · 23/04/2023 23:14

Well basically I thought that everyone was basically good and reasonable and if everyone was educated properly we'd all be socialists and everything would be great. Also I had a phobia about everything nuclear due to Chernobyl and the book Children of the Dust. So there would have been no nuclear power, no nuclear defence, and imposed socialism. I still think socialism is the best form of government but I realise it doesn't work unless everyone buys into it and I no longer think its just ignorance making people not want to be socialists

NuffSaidSam · 23/04/2023 23:11

Dogs would be prescribed on the NHS. Anyone unable to afford a dog would receive government help. All workplaces would be made to be dog friendly. Doggy daycare would be subsidised.

Anyone who doesn't like dogs/is allergic would be sent to live on the Isle of Wight/other offshore community.

Gladiators would replace football as the national sport and be taught in PE lessons.

The vast majority of arts funding would be directed towards musical theatre and pantomime.

Every restaurant would be obligated to have an ice cream factory like the one in Pizza Hut.

AP5Diva · 23/04/2023 23:11

Immediate ban on all homework effective immediately.

NancyJoan · 23/04/2023 23:09

Cigarettes free to all
School uniforms all supplied by Topshop

NeverDropYourMooncup · 23/04/2023 23:07

Free puppies for good children.

Extra fruit and vegetables for all.

Schools to be moved to the countryside with free boarding and the opportunity to work with animals all summer.

Mean girls to be shipped off to their own island where they could wear crowns and be as far away from everybody else as possible.

Replacement parents available on demand.

Tree climbing and nature lessons every day.

No bagpipes. Ever.

CrapBucket · 23/04/2023 23:05

The environment would be priority.

More art galleries.

And Matt Goss would have to marry me.

KnickerlessParsons · 23/04/2023 23:05

Everyone should learn to play an instrument, for free.
