...having a good old "poor me" rant, blaming "the left" and trashing the OBR... because ignoring them and cutting them out first time round went SO WELL.

Surely this dead horse of a political career has been flogged enough!? Just how deluded and arrogant is she to resurface so soon after her horrendous, utterly regrettable tenure as PM?

She admits she's not "entirely blameless". Which leads me to believe she thinks she comes close to being entirely blameless.

In my opinion she only got the PM job because she was white and the Tory blue rinses wouldn't vote for Sunak. Worst PM we've ever had.

Grantanow · 02/03/2023 11:22

Obviously very thick skinned.

I read on another thread on mn that she shares the same PR person as Price AndrewConfused

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

She’s been spending time in the States, frolicking with kindred spirits and the upshot of it all is, she’ll form/run a free market think tank here in the UK, which will certainly influence and shape politics. She’s determined to inflict her Trussonomics on us.

Surely nobody would touch this "think tank" with a bargepole after she pretty much single handedly destroyed what was left of the economy after Brexit/COVID/Ukraine? Or maybe they will use it as advice for what not to do? Whatever Liz recommends, be sure to take the opposite path.

I wonder if there are some narcissistic traits there. No one could be so deluded.

Very likely as most top brass politicians have narcissistic traits. But Liz is like a living embodiment of the entire DSM-5 Cluster B list.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 05/02/2023 17:10

Hobestly, she needs the men in white coats round. She screwed the countries entire financial system and shrugs it off.

lljkk · 05/02/2023 17:08

DH has a handy Telegraph reading UKIP leaning voter to chat to, who says... Truss's downfall was all a Sunak conspiracy. Sunak controlled the technocrats in OBR and leveraged his cronies in the City to also cause Pensions crisis. Also, Sunak maneuvered to force Johnson out. Cunning, eh, I sure wouldn't have credit Sunak as being so masterful, deffo.

MargaritaRita · 05/02/2023 13:13

There must surely be some financial gain for her to demonstrate this kind of lunacy and total self belief.

TheVanguardSix · 05/02/2023 12:42

Yes she has fans… and US induced Dutch courage to fan the flames of her right-wing libertarian ideology (one shared by Nigel Farage, just to remind everyone that this is a collective agenda that is determined to permanently alter the UK’s political and economical engineering). She’s a key component of a disturbingly destructive force. She and her cronies are determined to finish off what Thatcher could not (there were still some checks and balances in place that kept Thatcher from dragging the UK into total Friedmanic meltdown- she came bloody close!). I feel like the ability to stem the libertarian tide is at its all time weakest. This has been decades in the making.

Circlesandtriangles · 05/02/2023 10:53

@lljkk definitely no imposter syndrome, well put 😂

I do wonder how is she polling in her constituency. Usually the worst politicians on the national stage seem to be wildly popular at home.

At some point when Truss was running for Leader in 2022, EDP went to Thetford to interview ppl in her constituency. Most of them had never heard of her so couldn't muster an opinion. Very funny. She may have to fight for her seat in 2024, though, so maybe that's part of her relaunch too, because her constituency party is probably feeling mortified about what happened in 2022. Doubtless has Tory and other nefarious gremlins whispering in her ear saying she was wrong done by. We have to admire her self-belief, right? No Imposter Syndrome there !

Vitriolinsanity · 05/02/2023 10:21

I'm staggered she wrote it and the paper gave it oxygen.

Any right-minded person would be suffering the equivalent of the worst beer fear ever thinking back on their shortest ever term in office and the sheer tsunami of shite they unleashed.

Liz, mate, take it from me. You're proper fucked. A greasy breakfast and flat coke won't make this go away ever.

lljkk · 05/02/2023 10:20

I kind of like hearing this, I have wondered what perspective she had.
Robert Peston said listening to her perspective is like stepping thru the Looking Glass.
Gas lighting on Full.

Sadly she has fans, followers, believers, who will promote her views. That's the thing I worry about. Intriguing that Kwartang is not mentioned. He's supposed to be so clever... does he know he F'd up?

thetrees · 05/02/2023 10:17

Good. She can remind everyone what a fucking disaster the Tories are and continue to be.

This would make a lot of sense - given last week especially we had the bath story "exonerating" Prince Andrew 😂

It's as though we are living in some slasher horror film series where no matter how the antagonist is killed off, somehow they still rise to kill a few more people.

Yes!! This is scarily accurate!

Or shameless.

TheVanguardSix · 05/02/2023 09:49

I listened to a podcast this week where it was said her op-ed would be published today, thus sounding the alarm for her political ‘comeback’ (don’t all cheer at once).

The Observer reported this morning that she is about to launch her political comeback. I had to laugh....

They should launch her into space.

Then launch many if the other current Tory party after her.

I get people want left or right wing policies and no size fits all.

But this bunch take corruption and lack of integrity to a whole new level.

Themsmedaps · 05/02/2023 09:21

The left wing economic establishment??
The City and Hedge Funds are hardly well-known for their left leaning socialist principles.
The woman is utterly deluded!

jaundicedoutlook · 05/02/2023 09:20

Totally deluded. Best ignored - not even backbench Tory MPs are mad enough to bring her back. I think the main motivation is to keep her in the public eye and so boost her speech earning potential, to avoid the risk of having to go on the panto circuit like the Hamiltons.
