PMQs is hillarious

One of my issues with Starmer is that he only seems capable of reacting not being proactive in any way, and that’s pretty much what’s he’s done again today. If he didn’t have BoJo as his fall guy, he wouldn’t have anything to say.

That's not what I've seen.

Perhaps I've misremembered, but eg at the beginning of the pandemic I remember Starmer being the one coming up with the ideas and Johnson just floundering and fluffing... only to follow Starmer's idea two days later.

I found myself thinking Starmer was in power, but not in office.

This is what puzzles me. Surely they can all see the end is in sight for him, why do they think sticking by him benefits themselves, even if they don't care about the country?

Honest question- who in the government actually wants him to stay (apart from Johnston himself....)

MPs can sign letters to oust the PM. You need enough of them for a vote to happen (and decide if the PM is seen as acceptable to MPs or not). That’s the letters to the 1922 committee.

They did that not long ago and should now wait a whole YEAR before they can call a new vote. Allegedelly. Because rules don’t seem to be really followed any more 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Michael Gove is probably hiding under a rock planning his take over strategy. I hate Boris but the thought of Gove becoming PM scares me. Oh and JRM - both would make us join USA with regards to rights for women. Gove has already broken the education system 😢

I wouldn't be surprised if someone had found Gove was off his face again and locked him in a convenient office to keep him off TV.

Best Keir Starmer performance I've ever seen: a perfect balance of serious, righteous, sharp, and funny. Made clear the stakes of the debate--not just Boris being a liar, but abandoning a sexual assault victim.

The lines from the Tory backbenchers were brutal. The story of Boris LAST NIGHT blaming fellow MPs for not stopping Pincher from drinking (rather than Pincher for his behaviour or himself for employing Pincher despite what he knew about him) was a real knife.

The audience here really wasn't the public, it was the rest of cabinet and the 1922/backbenchers who haven't yet submitted a letter.

My big question: where was Michael Gove?

It's interesting to see what's reported on the BBC live stream vs what's actually said.

Literally anytime the BBC says something the Tories don’t like, another big member will come out threatening to abolish it again. The idea that any balance is possible under such circumstances is nearly as laughable as the idea that BBC news is left wing just because it has a few woke quotas to tick box.

Sajid Javid's speech was quite emotional. I think he would make a good leader (And I might even be able to vote...)

Anytime I have watched pmq I’m always laughing at the whole thing. Have to try and remember it’s supposed to be real and not satire.

The sheer amount of suffering they would cause means I cannot wish for that

if another party or coalition get in the Tories will blame the the fallout on the new government and party fr years to come and the press will ensure that it sticks like mud.
better the Tories win one more election and dig their own grave once and for all.
